I was a business major and I'm going to start my sophomore year Fall. When I volunteered a couple during Spring it made me realize PT is where my heart lies. But unfortunately Fall semester I had gotten an "E" for Microeconomics due to outside factors, resulting into a low GPA. Do you think that will hold me back??

If you just messed up on one class, then I don't think its a big deal. I messed up on two years because of my lack of commitment, but made my way back (I got accepted to PT school with a 3.12 GPA). It boils down to if you are willing to work hard and ace the rest of the classes.

What's an E grade?!

to the OP....since that was also an econ class, it'll effect your overall GPA but not your pre-requisite GPA that PTCAS calculates when you apply, so that will help as well. Just do the best you can in your remaining coursework to try to compensate for the poor grade.

Also, there's a spot on the application to answer a question along the lines of "does your transcript accurately reflect your abilities?" If there's a legit reason for a poor grade in a course, you can explain it there.
