Changes in planned coursework

When I submitted my application, I listed physiology and microbiology under planned courses. I already received more than 5 interview invites. Will it be a problem in the future when I do get accepted to a medical school and they learn that I didn't finish my planned courses? Since physiology and microbio aren't required courses, is it okay for me to drop them?

I believe they are only concerned with required coursework and you having a degree by the time you matriculate.

You should notify them of this change before matriculating. Technically, your planned coursework is binding, and you are being accepted upon those conditions being met. Thus, they can actually withdraw an acceptance or even rescind a degree if they want to. In general, it's your pre reqs that really matter, but why take a chance. Better safe than sorry. Just shoot an email to the dean after you get an acceptance, explaining why you had to change your plans. That way, when he/she says it's fine, you have documentation that they knew and acknowledged this change, so they can't go back on their word later.
