Hi folks

A bit of an urgent question here.

I had a manuscript accepted for publication last weekend (it was a 2nd revision, FWIW). The manuscript was thus sent to the publishers and I anticipate getting a "proof" this week or next.

I just found an article that is about 80% related to mine, that was published in the 1980s. I seriously need to reference that paper. What should I do at this point? Should I email the editor and ask him to make changes? Is it common to do something like this after acceptance?

Thanks.

when you get the galley proofs, you may be able to add it. If it does not affect the content, they may not care.
