Before submitting my AMCAS, I had assigned a LOR from a physician to multiple schools.

Recently, I found out that the physician is out of town (and will be for a long time), so I talked to another physician I've shadowed and she said she'd be happy to write me a LOR.

However, I've noticed that on AMCAS, you can't remove letter writers after assigning them and submitting AMCAS.

So, what do I do? Should I go ahead and create a new LOR profile for the new physician and assign her to all the schools the other physician was originally assigned to? And should I just leave the other physician assigned to all those schools even though he won't be submitting a LOR?

...ahh, so much stress...

I appreciate the help guys

Don't mean to be annoying...

EDIT: MODS, please take this down. I realized the solution is very simple and an option on AMCAS.

Care to share? I tried to assign a LOR that's already created in amcas but wasn't received until after I had submitted the application to the schools but couldn't. Idk if I have to wait to get verified before adding it to the schools or what.

On ACMAS:

under the letters tab, there's an option at the top that says something like "remove/change", click that and you can remove your letter writer if he/she hasn't submitted their letter yet.

Then, at the very bottom, you can add another letter writer.

Then, under the schools tab, "edit" each school in order to add a letter writer to that school and remove the letter writer.

I hope that made sense!

Basically, you can remove the letter because it isn't going to be sent. Then you can add another.
