So I submitted my app today and designated a letter writer for my prelim which has been uploaded to ERAS already. But I just realized i needed a chairman's letter for some of them. I was hoping to remove that one letter.

My question, is that still possible? It seems like when I track the programs, it still has the letter in there even though on my program selection portion, I have already unchecked it. So essentially I want to change one of my designated letters after I submitted my app but before the programs download it.

Just wanted to confirm...

There's no way to change/replace an assigned LOR once the program downloads the application right?

it says you must assign another letter.

i don't know how that's done, however.

can you still update your eras?

According to the ERAS FAQ:

I de-assigned a personal statement or LoR, why was it sent?

When a document is assigned to a program to which you have already applied, you can no longer make changes to that specific document. The concept is the same as placing the document in the mailbox and mailing it, you would not be able to get it back. If you wish to assign another document in its place, then the program will download both documents. However, the new document will overwrite the old document. Depending on the length of time between the de-assigning of the old document and the reassigning of the new document, the program typically will not have access to the old document, unless, they have already printed a hard copy of that particular document.

If you want to make a change, you must de-assign the original document; create a new LoR record or personal statement, and assign the new document.

If we are expecting a letter from a Sub-I, do we put that letter down before we submite and then add it later? Or just submit with 3 letters and ERAS will allow a new letter to be added later, even though it wasn't designated prior to submission?
