Hey everyone. Quick question that warrants your advice. I am currently at a four year university doing quite well in my studies. I do work full time nights as a respiratory therapist. Recently I have accepted and started at a new hospital. Still nights, however, I don’t have the ability to be on weekends due to schedule availability. This makes it extremely difficult with class schedules. I'm trying to decide if going to the community college will set me back come admission time to medical school? All but one school accepts community college courses. What are your thoughts?

What pre-reqs do you currently have completed? Which ones are you planning on completing?

At the moment I'm taking Chem I and Bio I. So anything after would be at the CC. I'm still crunching class times for upcoming semesters, but also considering other options.

Take classes at CC if that's what you want to do. As you've said, only a few schools don't accept cc credit (BUT make sure you realize which ones). I took my bio credits at a CC as well as my ochem 1/2. You'll be fine as long as you continue to do well in upper level science courses in your 4yr school.

I'm looking at the CC website, and there's a continuing education pathway. It seems like I can take classes without a degree requirement that must be met. Is this the way to go if I want to knock out some courses at the CC and then other courses at my 4yr university?
