From October 17th to 27th, I will be travelling with two non-profit organizations to Guatemala and hold a MSK clinic. In past years, the team consisted of orthopedic surgeons, anesthesiologists and prosthetists/orthotists. This year will be the first time to include physiatrists (myself and a colleague). We expect to see approximately 50 MSK patients per day for 8 days.

I've attempted to obtain medical supply donations locally, but with limited success. And so...I post.

Here's a list of anticipated supplies:

  • 20 vials of Kenalog 10mg/ml (5ml)
  • 100 vials of Kenalog 40mg/ml (1ml) or 20 vials of the 5ml vials
  • 50 vials of Methylprednisolone 40mg/ml (1ml)
  • 20 bottles of Lidocaine 1% (50cc)
  • 20 bottles of Bupivacaine 0.25% (50cc)
  • Syringes:
    • 100 1cc TB with needle
    • 300 6cc
    • 160 12 cc
    • 100 20 cc
  • Needles
    • 200 of each
      • 27G, 25G, 20G. (1.5”)
      • 22G spinal needle (3.5”)
  • 5 bottles of ethyl chloride (3.5 fl oz. medium jet spray)

If any of you are able to contribute (private practice physiatrists!), please PM me for more information about the trip.
