My family has raised 8 charity dogs over the years, and I am thinking that during my post-bacc I would like to raise another. Having done this before, I know the drill - can anyone recommend a charity in the North East?

I'm most familiar with guide dog organisations, having raised a pup for one (GDB in San Rafael, CA).

Guiding Eyes for the Blind, if I remember right, is in New York (state). The Seeing Eye is in New Jersey (I think). Anyways, they are at least both in the northeast.

The Seeing Eye!!! My family has raised 5 dogs for them thus far and they (the dogs and TSE) are fantastic. They pay for just about everything, unlike some of the other dog guide schools. They are in Morristown, NJ (north central jersey). The only catch is you have to be in NJ, southeastern NY, eastern PA, Delaware, or Maryland. If you're interested (or anyone else is), I can give more information about their program, answer any questions, and put you in touch with the Director of Puppy Placement, who just happens to be my area coordinator.

I love puppy raising 🙂

What a title. I want to see that one a buisness card or resume....

I think I'm the "puppies are nice as long as they are someone else's" type....I accidently (rescue dog was pregnant) ended up having to whelp and ween a litter and boy was that poo-city...might not have been so bad if they were planned and I was in the position to have more time.
Very cute...just a pain in the butt

Lol it is on her business card... She has a sweet job, she basically drives around like a puppy fairy dropping puppies off and picking them up a year later 🙂

I will be in MA so unfortunately that charity will not work, it does look impressive though.
