Anyone out there know anything about charlotte? Does anyone live there or near there? I applied to Wingate and was just wondering how the city life was there. How's the weather, night life, restaurants, culture, etc.

My sister is a freshman in college and is transferring to UNCC this January. My mom and I are leaving the 3rd to drive down and drop her off and we'll be there for 4 days. It will be my 1st time in Charlotte but my family has been down there before and they really like the city. I also applied to Wingate so while I'm in the area I plan on checking out the pharmacy school. I'll let you know my impressions when I get back!

I went to Charlotte for a business trip, back when I was in the computer industry. They told me at the hotel to not walk around downtown at night, that it wasn't safe. But, that's true of most cities. It seemed like a normal, modern city to me.

Overall, I love North Carolina. I prefer the east part of the state with mountains. Lots of recreation and scenery.

A lot of my friends/co-workers have been there quite often and they always say it is great because it has all the amenities of a large city but has a small city feel. Also, their downtown is walkable (vs. a city like Atlanta where you absolutely need a car to get around).
