Does anyone know what the cheapest post bac there is out there? I know there are a couple in CA but you have to be a california resident.

Basically, I am looking for a cheap post bac where you are offered an interview if you maintain a certain GPA and Mcat score. I have searched multiple forums but can't find cheap post bacs! Thanks

Look at each schools profile in the AACOM CIB. If the DO school offers a post-bac it will be listed under "preparatory programs".

The few that I looked into were all the same costs as the tuition at the school. I decided to do my own at the state university and saved a bundle.

I did this too. I saved a bunch of money and got into several DO programs, so I was very happy with my decision.

Hi Rob C,

how many hours of DO did you shadowing? I am in the process of doing this. I am going to be shadowing a DO in a clinic.

Also do you think I should shadow DO's in more higher up specialties like neurology and surgery?

What about DO's who are very traditional and does OMM?

I know the one here at DCOM is fairly reasonable as compared to most SMPs. From my perspective...I went the route of just pursuing a master's in biology, one year program, at my in state school. Did the trick for me by boosting my app with more upper level science courses...that and quite a bit more volunteering. Good luck!

I made use of my local community college and took OChem at the University. Some DO schools had a problem with the community college courses. Neverthless, I did well on the MCAT and got into a good program.

I should also mention that I made a point to shadow a DO and do some volunteering. I think this was just as important as my coursework.

Im doing the same thing. What schools had a problem with the CC courses? I plan on taking a few upper level bio courses at a university as well.
