ive heard that if our score report date is posted on the nbme site and if we try to register again and it lets us that means we've failed....is that true?? and by that i mean has anyone tried it and been able to register and then received a passing score?

I think if the score report date is posted then your school knows the score and if you failed the school would quickly let you know of that as well.

No it doesn't work. I checked the morning it showed my results posted and it let me register to take the test again even though I passed.

No. It may have been true once, but if so its been fixed long ago. Boards like this tend to keep this kind of rumor alive long after. But that's assuming it was ever true-- since 90%+ of allo students tend to pass, the fact that most people are unable to register again may have created the rumor even though the cause and effect was lacking.
Just sit tight the 3-4 weeks. And try not to think about it.
