checking private messages

If someone sends you a private message how will you know/check it? sorry for the dumb question but I've never used this function! 😀

Go to User CP on the top of the screen, and make sure that your settings will alert you when you recieve a PM *i think its automatic). When you recieve one, a window will pop up telling you so.
