I don't understand if I should take chem 223 or 237 as I'm enrolled for 223 for the fall? I'm just scared if dental schools prefer one over the other. I go to the University of Washington.

All schools name courses differently. You need 2 semesters of gen chem and 2 semesters of orgo. The schools are looking for those titles on your transcript, not the class codes. If 223 or 237 are one of those courses, you're in the right class.

course numbers vary university to university - what are the course titles?

so there are chem223 and 224 which are the accelerated organic chem sequences for 2 quarters and then there are the organic chem series 237, 238, and 239 which are 3 quarters.

Schools require a year of organic chemistry so unless the units of 223 + 224 + lab = 237 + 238 + 239 + lab (which should be 12 units, 9 units of lecture + 3 units of lab), I'd take 237 instead.
