Is this asking to choose the answer that would be true if HCl were an ionic compound, even though it's not an ionic compound????
Which of the following statements is consistent with the incorrect conclusion that HCl is an ionic compound?
A. It is a gas at room temp
B. A 1 M solution freezes below 0 C
C. A 1 M solution conducts electricity
D. It is composed of two nonmetals

I chose D because HCl is composed of two nonmetals, and thus, it is not an ionic compound.

The answer is C. Basically ignore the word 'incorrect'. It doesn't do anything except confuse you. Basically, it is asking which of the following statements is consistent with that HCl is an ionic compound. Ionic compounds conduct electricity. D is incorrect, because it is INconsistent with the incorrect conclusion.

So do they do that on the real MCAT? HCl definitely isn't an ionic compound

I guess they do since this is AAMC material
