Hey guys, I got 2 C's in General Chemistry 1/2. However I got B+/B in Organic Chemistry 1/2. Should I still retake General Chemistry 1/2 to have a chance at schools like Univ. of Washington and USC? 😕
questions like these should be emailed to school directly, sorry, we are not admission people who determine your fate.
but two C in gen chem is not pretty on application.

if i were you, i would retake it. I applied 3 times and each year i retook classes to improve my gpa. I say, if you have time (and money) to retake the class now before you apply, i say do it now so you can give yourself the best chance possible when you apply. It's tough getting into schools and you need to give yourself any edge possible.

In my opinion don't retake the classes, you obviously had trouble. So another option is to take other science courses and really make sure you get A's, and let Gen Chem be your weak spot. Pay for a private tutor, you will make the money back when youre a Rph.

about the post...im in a similar situation...i decided to retake 2 of the 3 gchem classes to boost my prepharm gpa which, IMHO, is the first thing adcoms look at when reviewing applications.
