holy cross is a nice hospital, cook county is the best they have tons of great cases, and rare ones because very poor people go there, so youll the real rare stuff. also they just spen over a hundred million dollars building a gorgeous new building. also its right next to RUSH one of the top hospitals in the country- meaning you can get involved with great research, and meet some of the top physicians in the country, look at US news world report, they are in 12 major categories for top 20 in the field. so its nice to be there. also UIC medical center is right there, so youll see patients transferred sometimes. and get to meet new people. sook count should be your number onefield. also a perk my dad worked there for 2 years he put his cook county ID on the rear view mirror and he got out of 5 speeding tickets becuz cops love Dr's who work at county, they treat lots of cops with stab wounds gun shots, also cook county will throw you right in there, you will get to perform procedres from day one, you will see things and do procedures right a way unlike other hosptals who treat you like an imbecile- bt youll work you arse off. hard work. avoid michael reese, 10 years ago they were a top hospital in chicago- on of the best cardiology teams in the country but bad management led to all the drs to go to RUSH and northwestern and U of C. My cousin is a famous cardiologst who lectures all over the world. he was in london during the terrosit attacks and invernted contrast agent. he was trained at michael reese and loved it, great Dr.s came ot of there but now its junk....cook couny or holy cross is best. its also right near a clinic. so you could get involed with that. and in a nice area. also last thing UIC is in what chicago calls the medical center becuz UIC. COOK and RUSH are all on the same block, also the train goes right to COOK and RUSH, and its near the united center and UIC, so its good security, and the housing is being built up co you can get a nice place cheap
