Hi,

Just curious, since I'm lazy at the moment, if anyone knows if any of these medical school libraries are open to the public for just general usage.

UIC, Rush, Univ of Chicago, Northwestern?

I'm not sure what other schools are up here that are in the downtown area. I know CCOM is in one of the suburb way west of chicago I believe.

Also, has anyone know or live in one of these apartment complexes.

going to be commuting to jackson park hospital

The UIC library should be open to the gen public because it is supported by state/federal funds.

Northwestern's libraries are open to the public. There is the main Health Science library in the Ward building off Chicago and there is a library on the third floor of NMH with current journals.

When I interviewed at Rush, they were talking about how the UIC students are always studying there too, so I'm guessing the library is open to the public. It's actually in the hospital though, so you can't just get to it off the street.

UofC Libraries are not open to the public. You need a UofC ID to get in. But if you do find one, the Crerar Library is open to Med Students 24/7.

You need a UIC ID to get into UIC's health sciences library after 6PM. Sometimes the person who checks them goes MIA, though.
