i took the pass program and raised my score by about 30 points (i was close to passing the first time and went up to the national average). given that i passed the boards, i'd have to give the course a big thumbs up. i did have some issues with how it was run and the actual content of the course but i did ultimately find that i learned a lot of major concepts that are still helping me on the wards today....
I am using the videos & they are really good. He explains things in a simple usy to understand manner. I'm glad that I purchased them. This will be my third retake of step 1. If you want any additional info - please feel free to contact me.
Its definitely available to foreign grads. I'm currently taking the program and I would say 1/3 to 1/2 of the class attended foreign medical school. PASS is a prep program that is based on understanding broad concepts and how to tackle/approach the questions on the USMLE exams. This program is not as rigidly structured as you would expect from Kaplan, but I think learning to understand the broad concepts and apply it when you see a scenario is definitely a good thing to have in your back pocket for the boards and the wards.
I'll come back and let you know if it helped! I am taking the program before ever taking Step 1. But my NBME self-assessment exam said that I would have just missed passing before I started the course. I've heard of dramatic point increases so I'm hoping for that for my own score.
