I currently work for a fantastic periodontist in Chicago. I feel like the experience I have gained and connections I have made there have greatly enhanced my dental application and have given me insight into the field I would not have had without this job.
That being said, I will be leaving my position to attend dental school, and that leaves an opportunity for someone who maybe needs a year to beef up his/her application or just make sure that dentistry is the right career choice.
If you are interested or want more information, please let me know. I will most definitely leave in August, but I may leave earlier if I'm accepted into the school's summer research program.
My employer has not started advertising for this position. Once he does, there will be more competition for people who have dental experience, so act now if you have interest. He loves pre-dental students, and many of his surgical assistants have gone on to dental and hygiene school.
