I'm interested in child programs w/ opportunities to work w/ mentors in public mental health research/administration/program development. This has been a long-standing interest and I'd like to develop some hard skills around these areas during fellowship (e.g grant-writing, policy work). I'm mostly interested in east coast programs. Ideally I would also get strong therapy training. Do any particular places come to mind? Thanks!

In general do the strengths of the overall program trickle into various fellowships? i.e does the relatively strong public psychiatry division of columbia trickle into the CAP program?

This isn't East Coast, but USC's fellowship announced an opening yesterday. They are the big part of one of the biggest public systems.

I'm guessing the answer to your question, I'm sure it varies a lot. Some fellowships are very involved in the overall program, others are islands to themselves.

I don't know much about child psych programs in general, but I'd imagine CHA would be good if you like therapy and public psych. Also I can't comment to the strength of these programs, but Stanford has a partnership with San Mateo for a public psych focused C&A fellowship. Columbia/Cornell also have a public psych focused C&A fellowship spot. There may be others I'm not aware of.
