First of all, I don't get the "humor" in your post, since you are still in training and have no IDEA how much "chipping and clipping" you may actually be performing in your future.

As I've stated in the past, many of you believe that you will be performing surgery all day long or treating trauma cases, treating major foot pathology 8 hours a day, etc.

I can GUARANTEE you that if you want to pay back your loans and put food on your table, a significant amount of you will be spending time "chipping and clipping" to pay your bills.

I just met a local DPM at a social event that is extremely well trained at one of the top programs in the country. He's been out about 10 years, he's taught at one of the schools, he's been published, he goes on missions to other countries to fix kids feet, he's boarded in rearfoot and reconstructive surgery, etc., and he's not making the BIG bucks you are all expecting and spends plenty of time performing "chipping and clipping", despite his top notch credentials.

And by the way, if you add up the $45 an hour, 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year that equals a salary of $93,600.

Not bad for not having to think, and with very little risk. Just think if you performed a little chipping and clipping and threw in some surgery, orthotics, etc.

As was mentioned, $45/hr = $90k per year (more than that if you worked over 40hrs per week or got some wound care, surgery, etc from those types of facilities also)

Laugh all you want, but money is money, esp in this job climate. I doubt you make anywhere near $45/hr right now?

Dude, you act just like the prick your avatar proclaims. Stop being an *******. There's already enough of them, we don't need anymore. I agree completely with PADPM. If you're posting like this you're in for a real shocker once you're on rotations, in residency, and in the real world. If you want to be successful as a podiatrist, which is what you will be, it's all about being a personable individual who can relate to his patients. Personality is as important as technical skill.

I don't know about you guys, but that sounds a bit funny for an ad. Also its for a PRISON, one of the biggest in the US at that.

I will let the good moderators take care of this. i just hope apart from being ignorant you are not a bloody racist. In some cultures (including USA) this is a very close to being called a racial slur.

I asked you a valid question and you could have given a valid answer without using any of those adjectives.

i really hope you didnt added that adjective because of my indian background (and dont pretend you dont know abt it. its mentioned in almost every post of mine including my english writing skills).

the very fact you used the term in a completely non-relevant situation only to address me makes it more convincing to believe that there is some racist tendency here.

As nobody really has any idea what ethnicity anyone else is, I'm not sure how it could really be construed as a racial slur. On the other hand, this thread is going nowhere good. Everybody just really needs to settle down. I'm sure you all have plenty of other things to worry about!
