Hey all,

Can anyone clarify this chlamydia issue for me: I remember reading in Clinical Micro and in First Aid that chlamydia lacks muramic acid in its cell wall but other sources (including UW) say it lacks peptidoglycan altogether. Does it lack both?

I just took another look at Clinical Micro and it does say that both are missing. I guess FA can put this on their list of additions for next year...

For FA 2007 this is listed as an errata. It has no peptidoglycan, and no muramic acid.
