Hey everyone,

I got the greatest news the other day:
I got accepted to UCSD 🙂

YEAAAAAAAHHHHHH! I am jumping up and down in the air as I type this!!! This was my first choice-dream school so I am totally excited!

It sure would have been nice to see how my two cats Uranium and Argon would have dealt with the snow in New York but I am happy to stay here in San Diego going to such an excellent school! And for the tuition that I will be saving I can buy "Fancy feast" for my surf-dude-cats everyday!

I hope you all will get into your dream school! I keep my fingers crossed for everyone...

I am also looking forward to meeting other SDN-ers who will be at the Welcome-back day at UCSD on April 27.

Hi all
I got accepted to UCSD 3 weeks ago...and I'm still unsure because of the competitive reputation UCSD has. Any advice, guys??? A current graduating senior at SD told me that the biggest drawback at SD is that the dean (who will write the dean's letter for us) is not exactly student-friendly and will not gloss over students' records in her recommendation for residency placement. BTW, I'm currently on-hold list at UCD and Ohio State. I was interviewed in mid-Jan. at UCSD, and accepted off the acceptable list late March.

No. I certainly dont mind at all and am happy to share with all you guys; I was in the same boat as you are and knew the feeling very well... As far as UCSD is concerned, I think I'm an average applicant: GPA 3.67 cum, 3.71 science, MCAT VB 10, PS 9, BS 12, P. However, I really showed enthusiasm and excitement for UCSD in my interviews because that's how I truly felt at the time and I guess it came thru for me. Good luck to all you to SD. Any advice for me in my original post??

Hi "Accept-me",

Last Friday I found out that I landed in the A-pool... I was disappointed since I thought that the stats of being accepted from this list after swimming in this pool were slim... The only info I had about the A-pool was from a previous post on SDN. On the following Tuesday I called the Admission office to get the scoop directly from them about the A-pool, and was told right on the phone that I was accepted! So you can imagine how ecstatic I was...

So you guys who are still swimming in the pool, hang in there!

Wow... chnobli.. .what magic question did you ask? I called too, and asked if there was anythign I could do, besides writing letters, to increase my chances of admissions, and she just said "yep, that's all." 😕 ?!?!??! 😕 Cong - I'm not sure how to feel about SD. I went to my interview also totally thrilled. Absolutely thrilled becuase it really was my favorite school. Truly truly. But then I had a bad bad experience, not with the interviews themselves (they were awesome, I thought), though. It's been a little hard to shake. Anyway, .. I have heard various things, .. but most overwhelmingly the concensus is that SD is a way quality school in an awesome city. You will be happy there as a student and as a person. Where you live is important, .. at least for me. I KNOW I WILL BE HAPPY IN SAN DIEGO!! Please let me in!!!! I know someone there who is a M1 and he LOVES it. He says the class is really together and bonded and it's cooperative. I think he turned down UCLA and *maybe* Harvard to be there.
