Hello everyone,
I am an internal medicine intern interested in pursuing cardiology fellowship. I need some advice on how to select a program for an elective cardiology rotation. Should it be a program that I think I may have a chance at matching? Or, should I aim for a top-tier program (that I may not have a real chance at) but I would probably learn more (not that it's not possible to get a great exposure at a "lesser" program)? Any advice would be appreciated.

Start with making sure your program will allow you to do an elective in cards. If they have their own cards program, they likely won't.

After that, you're probably best off shooting for your "tier".
