Hello all. New to this site and in need of some help. I have a 3.2 and 32S and so I have applied and been accepted to a few Post-Bac programs: Georgetown SMP, UPenn Special Sciences, and Tufts MBS. I have had a hard time getting information from these programs regarding (most importantly) how successful they are getting their students into medical school, specifically theirs. Any advice on which is considered the best of these three would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Georgetown is the oldest SMP in existence, and I believe they have over a 90% success rate. Tufts is only a couple of years old. No idea about UPenn. At least Georgetown is discussed on the 'rate your SMP/postbac' sticky at the top of this forum. Good luck with your decision.

Georgetown, unfortunately, is not that effective. From their own website, 50-60% of its students are accepted while in the program and 85% eventually get accepted somewhere. About 20%, however, are accepted to Georgetown while enrolled in the program.

Certainly better odds than chance, but it's debatable whether it was something compelling in their apps that led to an acceptance or whether it was the program. Keep in mind, after all, that grades aren't released until Fall-Winter. Whether that's enough to persuade a committee to overlook your previous GPA is up to interpretation.

Can anyone shed any insight on the other programs, specifically if they are more/less/equally (un)successful as the Georgetown program?

Thanks!
