I have weeded down my acceptances and have decided to attend Cincinnati if I don't get off any waitlists. I'm currently on 7 waitlists, but the only two that I am interested in are Ohio State and UW Madison. Please help me decide what to do if I end up getting off a waitlist!
Cincinnati
Pros
-In-state tuition
-Really loved meeting the professors and students at Second Look
Cons
-Quartile rankings
-Biweekly Monday exams (honestly not sure if this is a pro or a con)
Ohio State
Pros
-In-state tuition (a bit cheaper than Cincinnati)
-Higher ranked than Cincinnati, albeit not by that much
-Seems to carry more prestige than Cincinnati, especially in Ohio
Cons
-From what I have heard, can be a very competitive learning environment (though this is not what I took away from my interview day, so I'm not sure if this is the case)
UW Madison
Pros
-I love that their med school is combined with their school of public health, and that they incorporate public health into the med school curriculum
-Madison is a great city and I would love to live there
Cons
-Will be a lot more expensive unless I receive a scholarship (OOS tuition)
Any insight you could give me would be greatly appreciated! Thank you 🙂
