omg a reply!! :laugh::laugh:
I have an interview on January 30th. I was reading last year's thread and they tell some pople that they are accepted a couple weeks after the interview but that they mail most of the letters in March. Meaning we might be waiting a long time 😱

Last year there was a very long thread but nothing this year. I wonder where everyone is.

haha yeah i was wondering too. march sure is a long time away....fingers crossed for an earlier response! good luck at your interview

i got an interview but turned it down because i'd already heard back from OSU. i have a lot of friends that go to UC and know a couple of great pharmacists that went there and they really love the school. good luck guys!

Love the avatar. Gallifrey falls!!

Just so you guys know, there will be people who will be accepted within the first few weeks of interviews then the rest of you will be notified by mail around March. This is a bit premature but for those of you who will be waitlisted, we got to at LEAST 40 on the list this past year.

I'm just surprised that there is not a huge thread like there was last year.

I'm going to be staying at the Mariott which Expedia says is on the campus. Is it near the pharmacy building? I know there are two campuses and I'm just wondering if it's on the right one.

Yes, the Marriott is on the corner directly in front of the med/pharmacy school area.

So walking distance? Yay!!

I'm just hoping it doesn't snow (I'll be wearing dressy shoes...not what I prefer to wear in the snow). Hopefully I won't bring the Buffalo weather with me  (Though it is pretty mild right now)

I got an interview invite as well, haven't responded to select a day/time yet though.

I'll be interviewing on the 30th as well...what time are you scheduled for?

If any of you get Dr. Warner as an interviewer, make sure you've got the "Boop" down from the movie Superbad.... oh and don't forget to use the word "dookie" either. That's only if you get Dr. Warner though.

I don't think it's supposed to snow anytime soon.... :xf:
According to forecast.weather.gov, when I leave Buffalo, it is pretty much guaranteed to be snowing.
There is a 20% chance of snow after 4:00 on friday Jan 29. Coincidentally, that is when I will be arriving in Cincinnati (plane arrives at 3:30)
Looks like I will be bringing to Buffalo weather to Cincinnati. You're welcome :meanie:

I didn't bring the snow with me - actually it was GORGEOUS out. It was pretty warm too. Having a positive wind chill definitely helped.

I got a very good impression from the school but unfortunately I felt our tour was a little cut short. There was a group who had to get to their interviews at 10:00 so they kind of rushed to get them back down there. I would have liked to have talked to the students a little more.

Who were your interviewers?

received my acceptance letter today!!!!!! 🙂

Anyone have an invite for UC for a future date? I am curious how long they are gonna interview people this year, last year it went into March I think.

Has anyone else who interviewed gotten an email saying that your file is under review, and asking you to email any updates about new work, volunteer activities, or winter quarter grades? I got one today and I'm worried this is a bad sign....I interviewed in January and have not done anything new since then. 🙁

Got accepted at the end of Janurary!
Still debating between UC and OSU...my hometown or my alma mater...

Yeah I got that too. I interviewed On Jan 30 - nothing has really happened in 2 weeks for me.

Me too! I debated between UC and OSU, but I finally chose OSU. I would save $$ by living at home if I went to UC, but I don't really want to live at home. Also, I know OSU's campus very well. Four more years of OSU football!!!🙂!!!

Doesn't matter which school you choose - getting killed by florida either way :lame:
Actually I hate florida but couldn't help but snark on OSU football:laugh:

(yes, I know my mid-major school sucks)

Hi I applied in November, got a conformation email even an academic update. But nothing else? Is that bad????

Yeah I got that too. I interviewed On Jan 30 - nothing has really happened in 2 weeks for me.

I got it too and I interviewed beginning of December, I am not too worried they told me at the interview they were waiting to see winter quarter grades for most candidates before they decided

I'm on the semester system and pharmcas sent them my academic update on feb 1. I shouldn't have to give them my fall grades since pharmcas already sent them, right?

For me I'm just not sure if I want a change or not. Sure UC isn't much of a change but it will be a different campus...but congrats on deciding on osu! I figure I can't really go wrong with either

I was asked to submit the additional information too. That just means they want to take another look at you before deciding your fate. I ended up being 17 on the waitlist and my turn came up around May 1st.

I think you should be fine there, they told me all I had to do was the academic update on pharmcas.

I just got my acceptance letter today!!

I'm not from around the area, so can anyone give me some suggestions about where to look for housing around the school?

Pretty sure the final decisions will be completed soon and you will find out if you are outright rejected/accepted or waitlisted. The first 30 people on the waitlist with receive a letter with your position on the waitlist. The rest will be unranked until those first 30 people are pulled from the list.

I got my acceptance letter on Wednesday!! I can't wait to meet everyone!

Currently my choices are:
University of WA and University of CA, San Diego. What have you heard or experienced?

I am going to be looking for places to live near UC soon. Does anyone know of any good apartments in the area? I live in Indiana about 45 minutes from UC, but will be moving closer. I am somewhat familiar with the areas near campus, but was wondering if anyone knew of apartments or other housing options that are affordable and in a nice neighborhood.

Where are all the other Cincinnati people? Our thread seems to be slacking.😎

I'm still waiting. However, the website says that we should ear final results around April 1st. So hopefully the mail will go really fast and we'll hear by the end of the week😀

hello cincinnati people!! i didnt know this site existed! be on the lookout for your letters...i live in cincy area (like literally within walking distance to the UC pharm school) and recieved my acceptance letter today 😀 it was dated Mar.23 so im assuming thats when the latest batch went out..

check out uptownrents.com , I rent through them and have had no problems , they have a pretty good reputation here.
The only con is although campus is really nice ( east and west) the sourrounding areas are pretty ghetto...like where I live, You get used to it though and a lot of college students live in shabby houses for the time being. nicer areas include rockwood/hyde park area and newport KY which is fairly close, about 15 min drive..

I interviewed Jan 30th in the earlier time slot (8:30). I think there were around 3 others who were in my time slot. So I probably just missed you.
UB is my first choice (wait listed) but I don't have too much hope since the wait list didn't move last year

Is the summer orientation just one day?? What exactly are they planning to have us do?

I think on June 25th, we will do HIPAA stuff and learn about the summer shadowing hours. Then, there is a mandatory orientation the 2 days before class starts, at the end of September. I'm not sure what we will do here, but I'm guessing we will get our class schedules and everything.

I got my acceptance letter early March!! I am still having a very hard time deciding on what school I want to go to. I got accepted in at the U of MN and Belmont University. Anyone from Cincinnati want to help out and share your thoughts on the school and area??

congrats on getting accepted to those schools, must be nice to have those selectons. I'm finishing up my pre-pharm requirements at cincinnati and plan on going there for pharmacy school..the urban area means that yes some areas can be quite ghetto but the east and west campus are really nice, safe and overall a good place to go to school. prices for rent are reasonable especially if you room with other people. it's also conveniant because clifton/UC area has pretty much every type of restuarant you can think of and a lot of parks/stores/bars close by. It's really close to downtown cincy/newport KY which is your source for a good time. and of course, good football.... Thats just me speakin though and ya im little bias...

The orientation two days before classes start is a lot of different activities, getting to know your fellow PharmD students, etc. You also have your white coat ceremony at the end of the second day.
