CK test timeline?

When is the latest you should take the CK? A lot of my classmates are taking it mid-September. Is this the latest you should ideally take it? What if you went 1 or 2 weeks past this into late-September... would you be shooting yourself in the foot by doing this?

Some people take it in December. It all depends on what you are trying to do and what your step 1 score was like.

Step 1 wasnt bad just not as high as I would have liked it to be... I want to be able to raise my step 2 (been studying hard for it and corrected my step 1 study mistakes this time around) and I want to be able to include my step 2 earlier in my application.

I ve heard that for DOs/imgs many places will not consider you untill they see both step 1 and CK scores... with this in mind when is it most ideal to take the CK before? Most people I know are taking it mid September... anyone heard of people running into trouble taking the exam late September?

Depends on what your score on step 1 is. Depends on what speciality you are going for. Generally it is hard for a carib grad to match into something decently competitive without step 2 unless you have a monster step 1. I am a DO and had an above avg step 1 and I took my step 2 late, and got most of my IV's without it.
