do you apply for a prelim yr (or whatever) separately from radonc during the match? are there programs in which you can do 5 yrs at one place and with just one application? where would i go about finding such info?

Add University of Michigan and Emory to the short list of programs where prelim year is required at the categorical institution.

yes and yes.

most programs you have to apply separately, but of the top of my head, cleveland clinic, wisconsin, and mayo-jack are some programs where you have to do your prelim year at their hospital.

MCW does allow you to do your prelim year elsewhere, but the PD has a deal where if you do the year there, you get to spend more time on cancer-focused rotations, and I believe time actually in the department.
