I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't find a definitive answer. What exactly is given to you on the DAT? From what I understand you get a dry erase marker and board to use. Is this available throughout the entire test, all sections? I think I read somewhere about sheets of paper but I'm not entirely sure. Also, is the calculator available for the entire QR section? The majority of the problems seem like no problem with a calculator but a lot of people say to avoid using it because of lag, although I'm not sure how bad that could be. A calculator seems like it would save a lot of time.

Thanks

You should call the test center to ask about the dry erase boards - that's what most people get, but from what I understand, some centers may give you paper and pen. You have it for all sections.
OK as long as I have something to write on the whole time. I would like to try out this tic-tac-toe method for the hole punching section http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Acne75iojno&feature=fvwp&NR=1 and would definitely need ample space to write. Thanks

Yes, you get a calculator for the whole QR section. But the problems are meant to be solved without it. It doesn't really save time bc you have to click on each number on the screen and its really really easy to mess up.
If it's anything like a normal computer calculator like you'd pull up from "Accessories" (which from what I understand its exactly like) I don't really see how it would be an issue but then again I haven't taken the test officially, maybe the stress makes it easier to mess up.
