clarification??

i have seen conflicting information regarding checking to make sure each school has all of your application materials. some have said to call and check now to ensure that additional materials will make it to the schools prior to the deadline, and others have said wait until the deadline to call. does this differ by school or is there an overall consensus (for schools that don't have online status checks) to call in advance to make sure your file is complete?

Its different for each school as far as I know.

I've already gotten emails from Western and Kansas saying that they've gotten my supplemental materials/transcripts. I don't know about you guys, but the fact that they go out of their way to update their applicants, instead of letting them wonder really makes me lean more towards hoping to get into one of them, vs. one of the schools that feel like "thanks for playing, that will be 60 dollars."

Don't most places just want it post marked prior to deadline?

I think most schools list on there website if they want to double check to see if your materials arrived. If one does not say, it never hurts to call or email. As far as Western U, they go out of their way to let you know if they ahve received or waiting on materials.
