I'm the same, but working on it though. I'm only 5'2" so that doesn't help. I'm sure you will do great tomorrow. I can only imagine how insanely nervous I will be when/if I get my first interview.

Congrats Kicia!!! I liked WVSOM when I interviewed there last year. They are super nice and the facilities are very nice as well. I hope you get accepted!!! Hopefully you hear something from DCOM soon too so we can meet. Good luck and hopefully you get some good news soon!!!!!!!

im split on schools as well...Western vs. KCOM

my first choice is TCOM but wont hear back til november, so im trying to decide based on the assumption of if i dont get in there. I like the sites that Western students get to rotate at and the place is really inviting and friendly, but you cant beat the KCOM friendliness. I also like the amount of OMT they do at KCOM...they say by the time you leave kirksville you know more OMM than a OMT fellow does!

I'm just wondering how yall are going about trying to decide mainly cause KCOM asks for a deposit really soon, and western is by december...im kinda leaning towards KCOM at the moment, but it might be a little cause of the money factor as well...i dont know

No...haha. I wish I was that young. I am in their GSBS program right now...it's kind of like a cross between a formal masters and an SMP (special master's program). I didn't do too well in undergrad (took too many difficult classes each quarter as a student-athlete and was too stubborn to drop....I hate quitting, I guess that's the athlete in me 😛) so I did an informal postbac and then decided that the smp would be the best route to med-school. I can't wait to apply because I know I will have a strong application (still debating on retaking the MCAT.....I'll have to talk to Paula about that after my grades come out next spring to see if it's worth it or not). I am so jealous/happy for all you guys...jealous because I want it to be my turn 😳 and happy because I know how hard all of you have worked for this and you deserve it! Just remember......

I think the biggest deciding factor will be the interview day and, at least for me, how at home I feel at the school and what the environment is like. I only applied to schools that I thought I would go to if accepted so that really is not a factor anymore. For me, it's kind of the little things that I notice during interviewing that matter.

Learning OMT at Kirksville is also kind of a cool thought for me as well as I really llike the small town environment. I'm hoping that deposit crap doesn't play a role in deciding bc I don't have to decide on KCUMB until December but I don't know about Des Moines and my interview there is two weeks before my interview at Kirksville. Unfortunately, I am only going to put down 1 $1000 deposit so then it will come down to assumptions.
