This has been my first year, and I keep my class attendance all the time. I know that several classmates have been missing classes all the time and they can still do good coz they take notes from someone else (and sometimes look at others' HW too)

Do you guys go to class every day from the first year until now?
Does your grade have something to do with your attendance?

I rarely skip class because I find that when I go to class it means that I don't have to study near as much because the things I hear somehow manage to stick around in my mind.

For the most part, the people that skip in my class get worse grades, but we do have a few who get nearly straight A's and skip class regularly.

I do go to class more often this semester that last semester ( first one)..but i had to talk myself into doing it....i am still happy with my grades..I think the key in missing class is to know wich one you can afford to miss...I am a good self study person..so missing classes has not affected my grade..and again i miss only the one i feel like i can teach myself with the lecture material..and at my school , we have note takers in our major classes..that make skipping class even more easier!!!
Some classes are just a waste of my time as the lecturers read staight from the power point we have in our online account..so what i do..i use my time wisely.. I go to the gym or spend an extra hour at home with my family..which to my standard is more beneficial than yarning for an hour..fighting to stay awake during a lecture.

the way i choose the "skippable classes" is: I go to every classes period until the first round of exams and from there i know how to select...Again I have been more consistant this semester..I was getting out of controle..and I know that next semester I will need to be in class for kinetics..

Classes with student/teacher interaction are mandatory at UF. There are attendance sheets that are passed around. Some classes give quizzes at the beginning of class to check attendance. Missing a class will affect your grade. But, some professors place more weight that others. I thought I was going to have to repeat fall semester because I was tardy. Even though I performed well in all aspects, I was given the minimum passing grade which kept me off of the deans list and dropped my GPA to 3.28.
