Need Help Picking Classes for Fall 10'

So far my schedule is only open for 2 Biology classes and I have 3 choices. I will be a rising junior and plan on taking the MCATS in the spring of 2011. Which classes do you think are better for medical school applications, and more importantly, MCAT preparation?

Microbiology, Physiology, or Human Anatomy? Pick 2 out of 3.

Here's the schedule.

Physics 3 credits
Physics Lab 1 credit
Comparative Politics 3 credits
Research 2 credits
[ bio ] 4 credits
[ bio ] 4 credits

thanks. and the reason I'm asking is because we start registering in 2 weeks.

Physio, and micro are the better of those.
However can you some how instead of micro take molecular biology/genetics/cell biology instead?

Of those 3, phys and micro.

Micro, although super interesting (to me), is something that you could probably easily study yourself. The material is not too difficult and you only need a broad surface level understanding for the MCAT. I agree with the above in that 'Cell', 'Genetics', or something along those lines would be a better course.

thanks for the input. Luckily i've already taken a course on cellular and molecular biology & am currently taking genetics. So I want to knock out either micro, physiology, or anatomy before the MCATs then I'll take the rest of BIO classes like immunology, virology, medical microbiology, histology and classes like that.

Nice 👍

I'd just do Phys and Micro then. If you think you would actually enjoy anatomy then go for it in place of micro, but it won't help you for the MCAT. (Micro probably won't either. Maybe a little). Good luck!

Physio, and micro are the better of those...

👍

I was going to say anatomy (I got 1 anatomy q wrong on the MCAT), but I think micro is really more likely to show up on the MCAT.

I'd go with physiology and micro. On my MCAT I had about six physiology questions and Micro is more likely to come up on the MCAT than anatomy. Anatiomy is not tested on the MCAT.
