Class Dues

What are your class dues for P-School? Is it a one-time payment? Payable in installments? What do the class dues go towards?

Our class dues were $100 for this semester... I think they are supposed to be slightly less next semester. I forget the specifics of what it actually goes towards.

Class dues? We don't pay them. Perhaps it is because UW is a public school?

we paid one time of $75
they go toward paying for composites as well as a graduation party

we also do fund raising throughout the years.

it was determined by each individual class though
i think the current 2nd years have it a little more expensive

We pay a one time $300 fee. This includes cap, gown, class gift, and a really nice Graduation Dinner/Dance/Party. It seems like a lot of $ now, but it's really worth it to have something darn nice at the end of 4 HARD LONG years of work (once in a life time)!! Years from now we won't remember the $300, but we will remember a great party and seeing our classmates one last time! It would suck to have lower fees but then a taco-bell catered pharmacy graduation dinner 🙂

No class dues. We work as a class to do fundraisers, though.

We don't pay class dues or have fundraisers. All the fundraising is done by specific groups like KE and ASP.

What is the money used for? We had to buy our lab coats and will have to buy our cap and gown when (and if) the time comes. Meetings and lunches are always sponsored by a pharmacy.

At our school we do fundraisers so that when we graduate we can donate a class gift to the college of pharmacy. We also have other events like a Pharmacy Ball, that the money goes to.

Thanks to everyone who responded. Our class dues would go towards our 'end of p-school' party, which can be quite the grand gala event, as well as the class gift. The school doesn't mandate the $ amount, so the P1 class is given the opportunity to set the rate for ourselves.

I forgot to add, that the Class Dues would also go towards rental or purchase of the cap & gown at graduation! Regular fundraisers will be done, but they are considered separate from the Class Dues, as they go towards class outings and events not related directly to graduation. On that note, what kind of class outings have you all had?

We're going to have class dues (to cover our graduation reception and other things), but it's undecided how much they'll be at this time. They should be per semester, though.
