How many of you are buying/bought houses already? And in what state/area?

This thread is dedicated to helping those who are looking, or have other questions etc.

As for me I am looking to buy, and possibly rent out some rooms. Any advice......

I have been considering this option but have decided to rent. I decided this because I could not reasonably charge my roommates enough to cover my costs and getting a place that was close was imposable because of price.

There was a really interesting Buy/ rent graphic that the new york times made. I was unable to link to it. try googling it. You input all of the numbers and it tells you how long it will take buying to be better than renting.
