I know how you feel. UTSW has a GPA which they calculate based on grades😱 And they give a grades also🙁
 
Speaking of UTSW, I found a book at the UCLA library about the history of UTSW Medical School. Needless to say, I checked it out and I am reading it instead of studying for my final tomorrow😛

Maryland has Honors/A/B/C/D/F.

Which makes even LESS sense. I already have a headache thinking about it.

...and who needs to study for the last final of undergrad? You've already gotten an acceptance and I doubt you could fail even if you tried, so no worries 🙂

Wait, Honors is on top of A😱 That is scary. UTSW has A, B+, B, C, F... People say you should try to get an A in one class, and the rest, just try to pass:scared:

Actually this is my second to last final... my last final is on Thursday :d But yeah, it does not matter at all, but I wanna finish off strong... I have no excuse not to get a 4.0 this quarter since I already dropped my other class...

Yeah I think the High Pass/Pass system is way better. Hopefully, I'll be a High Pass student. I don't have much aspiration for Honors :laugh:
 
Oh, and we get +/- tacked on during clinical years. Awesome, huh?
 
Worst. Grading. Policy. Of any medical school in the US.
 
Unfamiliar with Cleveland. What's their policy?

EDIT: Looked it up. I still think mine is worse than having a committee decide if I've improved enough in the past year to advance to the next. I feel like Maryland's policy fuels competition...but oddly enough their students seem laid back. Who knows.

no grades... but the faculty votes whether you move on, and you have to write 20 page papers and reflection essays about what you learned and stuff:scared: Hence why I did not attend the interview...

I am so looking forward to meeting new people and creating new groups of friends.....but then it dawned on me that I would be surrounded by neurotic med students. :diebanana:

I don't mind the ones that keep their neuroticism to themselves.....but the ones that spread panic and anxiety like f-ing gonorrhea I could do without.
 
so apparently my Hep B immunity is 0.99 and you need >1 to be safe according to the CDC. Dangit. 1 more Heb B booster on thursday I guess.
 
...crap, that reminds me I have to find those health forms before my doctor's appointment next week. I really gotta get this absent-mindedness of mine under control before this med school business.

I am so behind on all this-I am stuck in Chicago without my immunization records and I feel like such a slacker 🙁 I really hope I have everything ....

Yeah, I'm submitting a bunch of documents tomorrow. Hopefully, I'm finished with the necessary paperwork, but somehow I doubt it 😳

Oh and I just thought you guys should know:
