in other news, I met my cadaver today and brought home a trumpet-looking case full of bones. and somehow none of you people are going to find that odd, which indeed makes us crazy to the normal population.

yay for a skinny cadaver. I seriously think she weighs about 65 pounds.

We weren't given a cause of death! 🙁 Maybe we'll get it later. But, we have to write up a modified report on the cadaver so maybe that's why they haven't given us the CoD yet.

Sorry I haven't been around... first exam is looming (wednesday morning). I feel like I've got a decent handle on everything, but it IS a lot. Plus we have 5 more hours of lecture tomorrow that will be on it...

And Tuesday, our "review" day (which consists of two hours of review in the AM) is adequately filled with Intro to Gross Anatomy, Gross Pre-Lab, and our first Gross lab. So, yeah, I definitely found the need to get the material down cold this weekend.

Have I said lately that I 😍 med school? Yeah it's a lot... but it's great!

We're fortunate in that the day before an exam we have no classes scheduled. Sorry to hear you're jam-packed 🙁.

***I'm constantly reviewing anatomical landmarks... Can I palpate anyone's pubic symphisis?

Tomorrow we start the hardcore anatomy and have class from 8-4 🙁.

DUDE-we had to pubic symphisis (and of course all the other awkward ones) on the first friggin day of OMM. It was a very uncomfortable transition

Although lucky I got a girl as my partner, she is rough and her and the TA man handled my PSIS 🙁

I had an ikea bed last year and while I did like it, it was really, really squeaky. So I want to try box spring + mattress and see if I like that better than mattress + slats.

Also, no ikea here. 🙁

let me know how it turns out becuase i must admit that the ikea bed is really squeaky on a hardwood floor.. we had it on a carpet in our previous apartment and it was totally fine.
and ikea ships 🙂 flat rate up to 1500 lbs or something crazy like that

haha that is really cool. with the new curriculum we wont start anatomy until after thanksgiving break but i am curious to see all the different kinds of cadavers we'll have

The first day?? ha, all we did was palpate each other. That was pretty fun, I'm not very good at it yet though.

hehe, that sounds like our DPM classmates. They have a bunch of bullcrap classes while we agonize through our meaty curriculum.

Anatomy starts soon for us too.

So far I've noticed two things about the curriculum:

Genetics is mostly review... and they're going through it damned fast. If I hadn't taken this before, their explanations would make almost no sense??? Not looking forward to when we get to the new stuff.

mine was hard as hell. I think I rocked the histo but eked out of biochem passing. grades this afternoon or by 8 am. I'm thinking 90-95% on histo and 70 % on biochem. pass = md!

Yeah well I'm living with 2 MS1s who are thoroughly enjoying anatomy lab while I'm cursing myself for not being able to snag an acceptance last cycle...*grumble* grumble. Also I'm jobless and no longer a full-time student so I no longer have health insurance from my parents! WTf?!!!
