Hi there, busy day!

Okay, you guys are really vindictive....

Roommates stealing food=bad... my roommate last year used to, but this year they are good...

Blues, maybe you should get your iphone after you come back from backpacking/ travelling, so you do not break it in the remote urban jungles of Europe...

Bacchus, congrats on the new house... it looks beautiful.

Now, I am off to class.

Bye.

Here's what I do already...I do two weeks heavy with low reps and high sets and two weeks light high reps low sets

Legs:
1. Squats
2. Reverse lunges & side lunges
3. a series of other glute exercises (not sure of their names)
4. Leg press
5. calf raises (alternate between seated and standing)

Biceps:
1. suppinating standing curls or incline curls
2. hammer curls
3. either 21's or preacher curles
4. reverse curls and forearm curls

anything I can switch up?

That is a long list...how many sets /reps do you plan on doing? If you are simply shooting for a burn, you can do an upper body work out that involves supersets.
Were I doing legs and biceps, I might do
1. front squats
2. romanian dead lifts
3. split squats instead of your 2 and 5

1. standing curls
2. preacher curls/incline curls
3. reverse curls/hammers

Thanks anotherface. Since today is light I will be doing: 3 sets of 12 - 15. I guess I could try supersetting on arm days...I do for delts (front, lateral and rear)

I did RDL's (actually stiff leg instead of RDL) yesterday (I always do that on my back/trap/delt day).

- Hmmm...split quats? what are those...legs split apart?
- I like the idea of doing either/or for #3 (arms) b/c I always felt like it was a waste to do both
- why do either/or for #2 (arms)?

Thanks anotherface!!!

I like splitting my quads and hamstrings too. I only said RDL and squat because you said legs (in general). http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/Quadriceps/BBSingleLegSplitSquat.html. You can find ideas on that site.

edit: I meant to say 2. incline/hammer
3. preacher (close gripped) or reverse

I like to quadruple superset hammer, concentration, wrist, and regular curls with a medium weight db (40 is good) then superset preacher and standing barbell curls with the ez curl bar. I'm still a month or two away from doing full weight after my surgery tho 🙁

Blues, where all are you going?

i've posted in another thread about this, i hope that doesn't count as double posting:

in europe, well where i have friends for sure, and possibly whereever me and my friends want to go since everywhere is so close.
for sure though in europe: germany, france, london, switzerland, amsterdam, denmark, spain
also tonga/samoa in the pacific islands.
i'm planning to learn how to surf, possibly pick up some spanish in spain haha, go bungy jumping for the first time, lots of firsts
but also just do stuff i like, go sky diving again, snorkeling, snowboarding

yeah, i'm like this is my last chance, for a while at least, i'm going to have a blast!!! personally, i don't understand those posts OMG I GOT INTO MEDICAL SCHOOL what should i study now!!!

i guess everyone is different. but yay to everyone who got in, and is planning to have a wicked time

cool, let me know if you want any suggestions as far as cool places to go, in another life I worked in Europe and Asia for ~4 years 🙂

All I got out of that was "curl," "barbell," and "surgery."😳

wow really, can you actually give me suggestions, i like hearing people's expereiences

Blues, I could prob write a novel about this which would take awhile as I'm on my iPhone, so ill elaborate more later, but some cool places to go in Europe would include:

Span
Ibiza, Mallorca, Menorca or any of the Baelerics.
Granada, Seville, Malaga, Barcelona, Bilbao, Santiago de Compostola

Islands/Coasts: Rhodes, Santorini, Capri, Crete, Calabria, Amalfi, Sorrento, Croatia

Austria: Zell an See, Melk, Wachau, Durnstein, Graz, Vienna

Other Places: giants causeway, Rouen, nice/Cannes/st tropez Stockholm, Bergen

These are just a few places I like, I'll elaborate and think of more later

This isn't

On the bright side, I have a cool scar and people are impressed when I tell them I got it in a knife fight in goa

yikes...supersetting preacher with standing barbell curls...ummmmmm that's rough.

I hate the EZ bar....my hand placement just always feels weird...I even hate using it for skull crushers and french presses

Thanks guys for the info!!!! Yep this workout is going to be killer...Got waitlisted today at UCSD...so yeah...time to really feel pain in the gym!!!!

I am thinking that waitlist at UCSD is a sign of things to come for my dream dream dream schools....🙁🙁🙁 We will see in mid to late march

but for now...time to engage in a self-delivered beating...and I'm going to love it!

If you want rough, a ukranian bodybuilder recommends supersetting square and 100m dash wo rest 😱

Eh, you never know how schools make decisions, I wouldn't worry about it!

Sorry riceman. Hopefully you'll hear good news soon 🙂

no prob! You guys are all so awesome for being so supportive.

Luckily I do have choices already (and I am sooooooo sooooooo greatful for that), but I am hoping the idea of attending one of my ultimate dream schools does come to fruition!!!

Eh...time to get focused...off to the gym

hey drizz...that workout would see sick. I am actually going to incorporate some crossfit training into my routine...and i know for sure some of those workouts as well.

Work hard enough, and it will! Are they receptive to letters/phone calls?😀

Just to give you all a little break from the chaos outside, maybe you can help me with something!

So my school offers a joint MD/MA Bioethics degree that can be completed within 4 years. I have a tendency (as you may have noticed) to overschedule myself and go crazy.

My question:

Do I go for the MA or take up fencing?

Fencing FTW. That's way more interesting IMO.

goodluck riceman.

fencing, you could always get the MA later. and yes fencing is much cooler

I would do the MA degree, personally, but (1) ethics interests me (2) I'm lazy as heck and generally physically inactive and (3) it'd probably help more for future employment than the fencing.

But ya know, everyone's different and you probably see things from a totally different perspective.
