Class of 2013!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Basically they want the full-time professors to pick up extra classes so that we don't have to pay as much adjunct faculty, turn off the computers and lights in the evening, etc.

We had but limited success with that one. Our entire bio department is ridiculously over-tasked already.

Common sense stuff really. Our funding hasn't been cut or anything dramatic. God is good! 👍

Yes! God is good, indeed!👍

We have some departments with FT faculty that could definitely add a course to their schedule. And they are wanting to cut down on directive readings/independent studies, try to get as many people as possible in one class. Increase class size to close to 30, etc.

Oh, only to 30? You guys are fine. Haha, they keep expanding lectures of 50 to 75.

You, sir, are a very wise young man. Also, is this post-doc too busy to process his own westerns?👎

It is actually my western... I have not done Westerns in almost 1.5 years so he is giving me a refresher😳

Despite the recession, Microsoft is planning to open retail stores to compete with Apple.

Microsoft says that their stores will be just like Apple stores ... except the staff will freeze when you ask them a question.

My ex (we've discussed him here) retook his test with this group of January-ers.

I wonder if he improved....

Is this a good ex or an evil ex? Do we want him to improve or are we rooting for an 11L?

Hey pianola, I had a question for you. Do you play Liszt's La Campanella? My friend showed it to me and it looks really hard...

He pretty much broke my heart, but I'm well over it. So I'd like for him to improve, but not enough to be a threat... ha. (high teens would be ok). surely you can't repeat performance a REALLY low score right?

YES, actually I did! That was my "big" performance piece. It's pretty hard. I have really small hands, too. But yeah, that was my 'showstopper' and a piece that I worked on for years.

I loved that piece with all my heart. What a coincidence you're asking about it. When people ask me "what my favorite piece is" I sometimes answer with that if I have to...

😀😀😀😀

Hey, if he broke your heart, karma's coming right back to bite him...😉 The medical profession has a 0-tolerance rule about heartbreakers.

hey guys whats up tonight?

just reassuring the mcat-ers that their lives aren't over, watchin homeland security, and mentally preparing for a 7+ mile run in few min
I have been slacking on my gym time. I need to get back on track.

awww anotherface you are super sweet. the doctor said it might be: anemia, thyroid gland problems, glandular fever/mono. had a blood test so we'll see!

thanks guys for all your comforting words ... it's almost like being home and pampered

drama is the story of my life today

Hola mi amor! I am just chillaxin. How are you?
why hello there! 😍 To be honest today was a mixed bag. I got some great news & some really bad news so I'm not sure what to make of it. How was your day?

My day was good, but I hate to hear that you got some really bad news.

What's wrong dear?
well the good news is that I got a surprise acceptance to Pitt today! very exciting... bad news is that my grandma took a turn for the worse. They had to intubate her so she is in a coma & if she makes it through they will have to amputate her foot. Needless to say, the family is going crazy right now!

I gotta run to the hospital. later gators

My family and I went through a similar ordeal with my grandmother, who died from diabetes and related illnesses. I wish you and your family the best.

That sounds bad. Mono...I'm heart broken. 🙁

I just got back from calming down one of my students who got a 22 on his first full-length practice test. He wants a 35+ so after I gave him advice on how to improve his score, I told him he might want to temper his expectations a bit 😳

I had a small case of thyroid imbalance a couple years back. I was feeling fatigued all the time, was putting on weight, and basically just felt out of whack. Not fun times.

Lyss, I hope everything works out with your family! :luck::luck::xf::xf:

It is a beautiful song... I am musically challenged but one of my good friends plays the piano, and she was showing me how complex it was, and I remembered that you were the piano goddess, so I figured you would know...

I have been slacking on my gym time. I need to get back on track.
Same here... Tomorrow I have to go to the gym.
I have been slackin in my runs, so its time to push myself.
Same here... I ran only two miles and now my thighs are killing me..

Woah, that sucks. I hope you get better soon! And stop making out with random people, and spreading mono... trust me, I used to research the EBV...:meanie:

I hate when doctors do that, especially when it involves drugs while they are taking histories. "Are you positive you have never tried or even touched anything?"😡

Lol, in 10 years, we'll be the ones annoying our patients with these repetitive questions 🙂
