Class of 2013!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
So Spurs... how is the studying going?

Oh and OMBD, my prayers are with you, your friend and her family🙁

...slooooooooooooooooooowly...

I cannot bring myself to be interested by this. I do not wish to learn about oxidative phosporylation for like the 3rd time.

Haha. Tell me about it. Ox phos should have been over with the MCAT!

BTW... note to self, don't let senioritis get this bad again...

Amen to that. I guess I have masters-itis?

My final seminar for my master's program is today. Doing a presentation on vitamin D. :xf::xf:

I think Mr. Nola has a surprise planned but he's not telling me what it is.

Hehe let us know if Mr. Nola does anything for you 🙂

*sigh* OK, let the cramming resume... I was supposed to be up a couple of hours ago...

I think business casual could be either/or. Just not a suit.

And plaid. Lots and lots of plaid.

what's up BEER!!!!
DRINK DRINK DRINK!!!
Barmaid_beer_1110644c.jpg

HA. With the amount I currently drink, the liquid level would have decreased maybe half a milimeter.

A teacher friend of mine mentioned a student who was named (Phonetically): Shee-theed... Spelled: Sh!+head

No joke.

And from a peds resident friend: A young mother was asked how to spell T'Shawn....

Doc: So how do you spell your sons name?
Mom: With a high comma.
Doc: I'm sorry I didn't catch that Is it T-Shawn, TaShawn, T apostrophe Sean?
Mom: What's this apostrophe, don't you know a high comma? You know, just like a comma but higher up...

That first one I heard about on a Lewis Black tour cd.👍

friend's dad died on the table 🙁
🙁🙁🙁

Thanks guys!

VCU's not as cheap as you'd think it would be for IS. I think tuition and fees is close to $30,000 a year.

I'm biased against Virginia, so go with Maryland. (...although it sounds like you would be happier at VCU!)

I got a Yale acceptance! 😀

That means my interview to acceptance ratio was 1!

Congrats!! Mine is currently at 0.17!

BD Biosciences just dropped off a stem cell poster/calendar!

FREE STUFF!!!👍

Hey, congrats!!! Mine is 2.67. 🙂

Congrats!! Mine is currently at 0.17!

Wow, your interview:acceptance ratio was 0.17??? So you actually got accepted at places that didn't even interview you??? 😱

(OK, I'll stop being a smart-ass now 😉 My acceptance:interview ratio is .375)

Myuu, I still think of you as being super awesome. 👍

Only need for it to not be 0 (or infinity in this case 😉 ), right?

I didn't know you were a big drinker, Myuu.

Lewis Black is awesome 👍 I would link to his rant about milk during his Black on Broadway special if I weren't at work.

Not knowing much about VCU, my vote is for Maryland, though I agree that you sound like you are leaning towards VCU, Chad.

Mine is 0.25 🙂

I can't read!

I must be really tired... in an earlier post, I was going to write "ctem sell." I'm just that good.

But yeah, interview to acceptance ratio is 6, which is less than infinity and thus awesome!😳

I can't even get through half a bottle of beer.

Oh... I really thought you had gotten into places that didn't interview you... cuz I know you're JUST THAT AWESOME 🙂

Ooh, I must have missed the sarcasm 🙂

Holy crap! Natasha Richardson died... the actress that's been in the news because of her skiing injury.

Yeah, that was sad, especially since it was initially thought to be a minor head injury 🙁

...ok, apparently the new iPods have the option to build "genius" playlists on the fly (previously not a mobile feature). Mine seem to think Megaherz (german industrial metal), Utada Hikaru (j-pop), and Katy Perry (wtf?!) all go together...😕😕

I tried this last night on my new Nano and it asked me to connect to my laptop. 😕

That is weird, usually mine links to artists who at least share the same genre of music. I can kinda see Utada Hikaru and Katy Perry going together, but not Megaherz.

Our mountain charges $10 a helmet rental. I think that'd ridiculous. I'll maybe charge 1 in 20 helmet rentals to a customer.

I actually went snowboarding a few weeks ago and probably got saved from a few head injuries by my helmet. Definitely recommended 👍

Thanks, Myuu... guess who now has "I Kissed a Girl" stuck on endless loop inside his head as he's trying to study? 😡

Blinding. You?

Blinding, as in stunning? Or blinding... as in pale complexion from never going outside? 😛

(Cuz I'm definitely the latter.)

(If, ya know, I wore bikinis.)

(Which I don't.)

(... Moving on...)

Hmm! Have you generated any genius playlists before? Do you have lots of correctly tagged music that iTunes also has data for?

Awkward, but in all the right ways. 😎

Very nice.😎

Which is hilarious, because I wanted songs that went with Megaherz's "Herzblut.":laugh::laugh:

Well at least people won't look at you funny if you start singing that at work.

My Japanese friends were telling me how much stunningly whiter I was than before. And they thought I was pretty friggin' pale before.:laugh::laugh::laugh:🙁

Really? You really think a guy can get away with, a) randomly breaking into song at work, and, at that, b) randomly breaking into singing KATY PERRY at work?

Fear not... I'm the whitest Hispanic person I know 😛

People get away...okay one person does... with A all the time. As for B, that is yet untested.

Haha... in 9th grade my history teacher was talking about racial boundaries and togetherness and stuff. She gets to me and says "...and you're pretty white, too!":laugh::laugh::laugh:

Hmmm... I nominate aznb0y to test this theory 😀

I swear this is not a lie: in 11th grade, they announced on the announcements to my school the recipients of the various national honor awards for people who took the PSAT. When they said, "And getting the National Hispanic Scholar Award, GoSpursGo," my class nearly revolted! They all turned to me and said, "WHAT?!!? YOU'RE NOT HISPANIC!!!" They seriously could not believe it!

Buenos dias clase!!!!!!!

yay for another long day...teaching class after work...yay for histology! Who loves identifying tissues?

What's on everyone's agenda today?

Today this de facto big winner (yes...that would be me) will begin to claim his NCAA bracketology throne.

Pitt will be playing Memphis in the final, western kentucky will win their first round game, Northern Iowa will come close but lose.

Edit: I am deciding to have my cheat meal today instead of on the weekend!!! What TOPpings should I put on my buckwheat

Lol, me singing "I kissed a girl and I liked it" doesn't quite have the same impact as if Myuu sings it 😛

Plus I have my own office so I can actually get away with singing at work, provided it's at a reasonable volume

Hey, aznb0y, I'm watching the new episode of southpark that I missed last night on a count of work...

did you see it? your boy Professor Chaos is featured, haha.

But it won't PROVE anything if Myuu sings it! Of COURSE a girl could get away with singing Katy Perry! Doesn't the scientist in you wonder whether or not a guy can? 😀

Also, doesn't count if you don't open your office door.
