lol maybe im weird, but stethoscopes dont really excite me.

I'm more excited about summer break right now. During summer break I'll probably get more excited about med school.

either that or suffer an anxiety attack.

I think they're kinda cool, but picking which one to buy doesn't interest me in the slightest.

You are correct; "Slap Bet" may still stand as my favorite episode of HIMYM. Though I will say Barney's One Man Show was out of this world; the climax....a slap across the face. 👍

However, Arrivederci Fiero is probably my favorite just because they revived that awesome Proclaimers song. The Price Is Right episode also holds a special place in my heart 😛

I have begun to sense (and the internet has confirmed) that talking too much can be construed as somewhat impolite in Thai culture (EDIT: In some parts of Thailand, not all).

What does one do at dinner if one is not talking? Eat in silence? 😱😱😱

Greek families do NOT eat in silence. They do not do anything in silence. :-/ Silence is often considered to be a sign of disapproval.

Oh and I completely agree about the whole eating in silence... Silence is a sign of disapproval in the Indian Culture as well... I have been to enough dinner parties with my parents... actually by now it is too many, since I have another one tomorrow... but eating in silence would be construed as rude...

Yeah, it's funny how there are such differences! Also, I get the feeling she will not be the future Mrs. Mr. Nola if she decides she doesn't like me! 😉 Mr. Nola is very close with his mother. So no pressure on me, of course, haha.

I guess it's all a continuum. We all have our limits on what's talking too much and what's talking too little. Only it takes a lot to reach 'too much' with Greek families. 😛

Haha, I think I would like to go to an Indian dinner party, funky. Mr. Nola and I went to an Indian place last Thursday and it was the best date we've had yet. He liked the spiciness and I liked that the spiciness made me eat more slowly 😉. And then I could talk a lot about how much I liked the food, haha.

I don't think you would wanna come... first of all, it is segregated by gender unless it is close family. Second, all the guys talk about is politics, and the females just gossip... And my parents refuse to befriend people who have children my age, so I just end up playing with the little kids, since I think politics is beyond boring...

The good part is the food😀 That is what gets me to come everytime:laugh: It is actually not that hot... it is flavorful and has spices, but it it is not too hot, unless you ask... when we went to Virginia, we had some goat biryani and asked them to make it extra spicy, and that was one of the first times I found it too spicy...

On that point, what is your favorite Indian food?

Hmm...that's a good question cause I don't know all of their names.

I like curries a lot - especially lamb curries. I also like Dosa (but I don't know what part of India that's from). I like Naan of course. I like samosas. Gulab Jamun (sp?). Mango lassis (sp?)

Actually...is there any Indian food I have yet encountered that I don't like? I don't think so, actually. :laugh:😍:laugh:

Yeah, I don't know how I'd feel about being segregated by gender. Maybe I could keep you company with the little kids, funky? 😀
 
Also, I own up to being a stereotypical white girl with low spice tolerance. 😛 I hate it when stereotypes are right, but unfortunately this one's got me right on the money.
