Class of 2013!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
😛

I think I'm going to stay on my waitlist at Stony Brook just for kicks. I'll probably turn the acceptance down if I get one though. Does that make me selfish? It's not like I'm holding multiple acceptances or anything...

Not really, I am holding on to Pitt, but I am not sure if I would go if I got in...

Oh and OMBD, I felt guilty about canceling my interviews and acceptances, except for one, cuz I really did not like the school😳

Okay, off to do homework.... It is the first week of the quarter and I am already bombarded with homework🙁

Hi and Bye...

Why feel guilty? You are the one who is losing out..lol the secondary fees and travel expenses....They have plenty of ppl ready and willing to fill your void.

I am of the opinion that one should not withdraw from an acceptance until you are 100% sure you would not go there. Things that are improbable, are still possible. And while I would like to get off of any of my WLs, I respect those who need time to make their decision... Even if it is only a .01% chance they will maintain their acceptance.

When asked to please limit your presentation to 7 minutes, it is a _________ idea to prepare 35 slides to present.

a. Good
b. Bad

o, I meant withdraw from other waitlists...if you were referring to me, idk.

Good luck, ahaha.

Twenty seconds per slide. You can do it.

Haha, no someone in my class did that.

Actually one person prepared 24 slides, another person prepared 35 slides, and the last person...I have no idea, I wasn't conscious by the time she presented. We went over class time by ~50 minutes. 😡😡 We were all supposed to have 7 minute presentations but I guess some people misheard and thought 17 minutes. Grr...

You could make a slideshow and play a 7 minute song in the background 🙂

Haha someone should have done it. Believe me after about and hour and a half of presentations no one wants to hear about the complex molecular mechanism by which copper might affect prions.

It's going. Keeping busy.

My lunch is over now, so I gotta go back to to work.

Sorry to post and ditch. 🙁

Bye, LFW...🙁

Estimated time per slide?

Well with 35 allotted slides in 7 minutes, you're looking at about 12 seconds per slide.

Unfortunately most of these slides were text-heavy and/or had complex diagrams and/or had multiple graphs. So I didn't time how long the presentations went, but there were a couple of people who took nearly half an hour. Half an hour =/= 7 minutes.

The last person to present spoke like Charlie Brown's teacher, too.

Bacchus is mad.

Why?

Did you look at the Women's bracket?

No but I will vote for who you want me to vote for after I get back from class. (starts in 4 minutes)

Is it Kate Walsh?

(will read response later)

You wouldn't like Bacchus when he's angry...

I guess there aren't enough Kate Walsh fans out there 😛

Yeah...I'm kinda feeling trapped at my desk at the moment 🙁

I'm going for a nice long run after work to capitalize on the nice weather though 🙂

Hi Spurs! Yea yesterday there was a lot of commotion. I have my 2nd Look at Cornell tomorrow 😱

what's up everybody!

just briefly checking in to see how everyone is doing. Really busy at work today...setting up databases, interviewing research participants, and also using some time to prepare for class tonight.

I have to give the histology lecture on the kidney tonight b/c the prof's dad is gravely ill...so right now I am just going over the lecture and mentally inserting comments here and there to say while giving the lecture...

😱

I guess this is good practice.

I hope everyone is doing well!!
