No prospective release date?🙁

Haha, tell me about it.
Tell Baylor that my family situation would improve significantly if they would let me know what the deal is 😛.
Also NOW my mom is freaking out that Baylor is going to up the tuition on us for the next 4 years.
So yeah, I need to talk to the finaid office at some point.
👍
You'll be able to get Tex res. status after one year. Alot of my friends from Rice who were OOS'ers did that
...not if I don't buy property. Which again I need to look into.
We'll see.
Patience is a virtue (that I don't have) 😛
Not to be paranoid, but that freaked me out too because of the whole merger thing.Haha, tell me about it.

Hey Spurs and/or Pianola:
Have you guys heard anything about how the possible merger btwn Rice and Baylor will affect the state funding Baylor receives?
Rice has long been trying to move out of the shadows of the South and broadcast to the entire world its national prestige and "New Ivy League" status. It does does not receive state funding (it just has an astronomically large endowment...so large it was free to attend up until the 70's). However, Baylor receives state funding. That is why 70% of the class must be reserved for Texas residents.
Just curious!
My sister has been trying to sway me to come back to H-town...she keeps her practice in the Texas Medical Center (and on Staff at Texas Women's and Herman).
No worries...it is soooooooooo cheap down there. Have you already started looking for housing down there?
I have not, but only b/c I am not sure where I am going and I am pretty familiar with housing around that entire area.
Alot of the med students live at Archstone (Medical Center)...it is an apt though...
Even if you do not become a Tex resident (DONNNNNNNNNNNN'T DOOOOOOOOO ITTTTTTTTTT....DONNNNNNNNNNNN'T LET THEM SUCK YOUUUUUUU INNNNNNNNNNNNN.....j/k) tuition is still much better than so many other schools around the country
Haha no, I don't do that. Deleting just makes everything unfair (and it lowers my post count!)Delete one more.👍
So cheap????? That's not what I keep hearing.
I can get housing where I live now for like $300 a month.
...
I don't think Houston can touch that.
top?
Wow...I had no idea Houston housing was so expensive!?Yeah, Houston housing hasn't been as great as I'd hoped 🙁 Seems like all the prices near Baylor and Rice village are more expensive, in the $900-1100 range, which, while not bad compared to say the northeast or Cali, isn't amazing either.
Haha! You fail 😀

500 for a studio is great!I think it's mostly in that area of town. If you're willing to live a couple more miles from the med center, you can get for quite a bit less. Also, there are better deals to be had, but you've got to search more thoroughly, and you've got to be careful that you don't wind up in a shady part of town. Like my friend who's an MS1 at Baylor managed to find a little garage studio for about $400-500 and it's great, but it was pretty much by pure serendipity that she found it.

😱😱
where in Florida do you live? dawg that is cheap...but Houston is a "big city" (filled with WATER MOCASSIN's in the Bayous)
I'm going to CRASH IT!!!!!![]()
it's not...that for the nicer apartment complexes along Kirby and around the med center.
Check out the Lakes when you go visit...it is on South Main just past 610!!!!! It is really really nice and only 3 miles or so from Baylor.
No, you're going to be coming because you will be going to Baylor!!! So sorry Stanford, but riceman's going back to HOUSTON! 😀
😱
p, you REALLY want to have to sit through a bunch of Lakers-Spurs arguments between me and rice? 😀

Yeah. Cheapness of rent was definitely overhyped.Wow...I had no idea Houston housing was so expensive!?
Haha...awwwww 😛
Keep the sports talk at home, guys.
That's horrible. On the other hand, if you refuse to see friends/family members, that makes you look like a d*uche.housing for 300 makes me sick. i'll be paying about 1100 (while you can find stuff for the 600-700 range this is what I wanted)
in other news, I started a new book called "handle with care". its about this little girl that has OI, and after five years, her parents have decided to file a wrongful birth suit.
only the ob/gyn is mom's best friend. or was.
Reason number 999 to NOT see your friends/family members as patients.
Don't pay 1100/month for an apartment. Ridiculous.
I'm looking at a 3 bedroom/2 bath house and it would be about 850/month.
I'm not going to have roommates. I tried a couple roommates in college, and I'm not doing that again. That's great if you can find good roommates... I for one don't want to go in with blind roommates. Got bit in the butt bad by this in the past.
Whoa. 850 for a 3 bdrm?! Where are you living?! That's crazy cheap.Don't pay 1100/month for an apartment. Ridiculous.

I've had good roommate experiences, but I don't want to risk it...so I'm planning on living alone next year. Maybe if I find someone nice, I'll consider it for 2nd year, etc. But for now, nope. That's great if you can find good roommates... I for one don't want to go in with blind roommates.
