Sorry guys. Chiming in on the draft, the Jets traded up for Sanchez which I had a sneaking suspicion they were going to do.

That wasn't a bad trade I think... Sanchez should be pretty good PROVIDED that he has a chance to sit for the first year. He only started 16 games at SC, so I think the Jets need to ease him in...

I just spent the last 2 hours debating my school choices and reading old threads to try to get some insight on that... failing pretty badly at that tho. Great way to spend a Saturday night

Haha, looks like RR beat me to the draft anger, I missed that.

I about had a heart attack when I saw that they skipped over Maualuga in the second round.

Are you telling me that there are more Detroit Lions fans in this thread (Yoda and RoadRunner) than Jets fans (myself)?

I guess that means Clemens will start this year.

I dunno, I can't explain it, but I'm not sold on Sanchez. At all.

True, but it had to get to the 90s first. :d

(It's very, very nice right now!👍)

Enjoy it before it turns back into 40s and rainy next week

you was going to? what happened???

I knocked out 12.9 miles in 1hr40min 😀 super happy about that, mainly cuz my race is coming up next weekend, and I was super scared that I couldn't run long distance anymore. <phew>

eating at Olive Garden = NEVER AGAIN!!!!

I chose the healthiest meal on there and the sauce still had to have some type of fatty thickening agent in it!!!!!!!!!! FAILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL! 😡😡😡😡

And now I come back to apt only to have bad ass kids causing drama...sigh...like they do every saturday. 🙄

LOL...Police had to even close off 40th St. just to contain those bad kids

Yo rice what's goin on? I heard the police chopper circling around outside so I went over to 40th st to see what was going on. Some guy told me that he heard that someone got shot in the head, and another said someone got stabbed in a restaurant. What the heck is going on? 😕

So how long is this half-marathon, anyway?

13.1 miles

yeah...i REALLY should have ran just a little bit further. A half marathon is 13.1 miles (full marathons are 26.2). But I have to take into account that I'll be bicycling 56 miles right before I start that half marathon...and swimming 1.2 miles before I ride those 56 miles. It's all going to be very painful. 🙁

yeah...high school kids just come down to 40th every sat night to hang out. Fights ALWAYS break out and search helicopters are dispatched to search for the culprits.

Wow, you run fast... That is how long it took me to do 8.75 miles...😳

Yeah, but I don't hear police helicopters circling above my house every weekend. Gotta be serious, i.e. someone got killed..

Slow-pokes! But honestly I kind of wish I was taller. I'm 5'8, 5'9 on a good day, and I feel like my times would be faster if I was 6'0.

You'll love Baltimore then:laugh:

I loved it, I would love to go back for residency 🙂

lol wait a second...i think i read about that run you did...LOL you got lost, cramped up, and some other things that just didn't exactly work towards a PR performance!

Yeah, but this is the first time I have run more than 7 miles...So my body is not used to it... plus I am used to running on the tracks rather than hills, so it was much slower than usual...

Of course, when you run on hills, it's gonna be a lot slower. When I was visiting my friend in north bay (SF), I would go run in his neighborhood. His house is basically near the top of a giant ass hill. I ended up basically doing sprints up and down the hills... I ended up destroying myself... lol. My quads refused to forgive me for days afterwards.

Yeah, my legs were jelly at the end of the run... They still hurt right now... I was gonna run the 10K route tomorrow, but I think I am gonna take it a bit lightly...

how much du u weigh RR? 150 or so, right?
i'm 5'10 and 181lbs. I used to sit at 174lbs back in Miami. I keep trying to cut down and get leaner...not really working so well =/

oh yeah...and my "course" here in Napa is pretty unforgiving with its hills. The last three miles or so are inclined just slightly enough that you can't see it with the naked eye...but once you start running it, the quads can see it just fine! Naturally, I always hate the end of my run on that course...

Yeah, 150. I could try to get it lower, i.e. eat less, run more, but I don't see a way to do that because 1) I neeeeeeeeeeeeed food for energy and 2) it's probably unhealthy. My body's built to play soccer (I played in HS), not run long distance! But it would be nice if my stride was longer. It's almost like free mileage from my perspective.

Ooh, Napa... yeah. My buddy lives in Novato.. like I said, his neighborhood is basically built at the base of a giant hill.. and his parents' house is pretty far up on the hills. Going down at the beginning is kinda annoying (gotta watch the knees, can't go too fast) and coming back up is a killer. But I felt accomplished

I know what you mean by these hills - you can't tell it's elevating because its over such a long distance, but yeah, you feel it! That's why I pay a lot of attention to course elevation maps when I can.

Are they mostly Hispanic kids?

so wait, with all this talk about running...
which way were you using it here Azadre???? I'd like to run Baltimore sometime too..I'm sure there are plenty of things to run from 😉

I've run Baltimore... the marathon that is! 😉 I thought it was a pretty good course, especially going through Federal Hill and Ft. McHenry. So if that's the case, i.e. you actually want to run... I recommend it!

FWIW, the crowds I saw walking north on 40th were predominantly black. This is Philadelphia we're talking about, after all.
Oh, I thought it was Los Angeles.

LoL @ Azadre... dude you're such a thug for a Hopkins student  (jk)
jeesh RoadRunner, how many marathons do you have under your belt?

Just 3 so far- Philly '05, Baltimore '06, Chicago '08. One of these days, when I'm at my prime (probably early 30's) I'll qualify for Boston, run that, and then "retire". But I have to shave about 35 minutes off my PR.. well, plenty of time to do that... I hope?? Still trying to figure out where to run for '09

How'd it go? And what was this for?

It was for my fraternity's annual Spring Formal. It was great, not as big of a turnout as previous years due to only a 10 day evite notice so some alums from out of state couldn't make it, but we still had like 35 people show up.

We usually go to the Great Dane but this year we decided to rent out one of the dining rooms at Pyle Center with catering. Afterwards we headed to state street bars and chilled for a few hours. Played some flip cup, my team won 4 out of 5 games. Playing flip cup in suits is fun!

I missed 40K. By quite a bit, it seems.

Congrats, Chubs.

Have fun on your trip to Florida, ar.

I am too tired out try to out-post Berken. I think she's just gonna have to maintain her healthy lead for a while.

Went to the beach today. 👍

I was there from about 12:30 to 6 and didn't get burned at all 🙂.
