Class of 2013!!!

yeah it's $100 more...but considering my mom is getting it for my birthday I did not want to go overboard with the expenses if it is not necessary.
I was going to say opt for the 16, but I feel bad if your mom is paying for it  You can always just remove and sync whatever you want on the 8, it should be enough

Nothing like some white zinfandel for inspiration.

ohh... I can't say I'm a big white wine person. I had about 2 ounces of a good red earlier tonight.

Put me right to sleep. 😛

Now I am having strawberries and brown sugar.

I'm a horrible red wine drinker. I'm actually backwards. I drink my whites warm, which is taboo I believe. I really don't know much about wine beside I'm not a fan of red. I've never had an extremely expensive bottle because I wouldn't be able to appreciate it. Usually I go with Yellowtail Shiraz, Cabernet, or Pinot Grigio. I did drink Mad Dog 20/20 the one time... hahahaha.

Doh, Shiraz is red... haha. woops

I love both, red and white (but the white I like cold 🙂) However, I am with pianola, they put me to sleep like no other. I had two glasses of red at a girls night dinner, and sort of fell asleep at the table......

If you haven't bought one yet, you are much better off getting an unlocked nokia rather than the iphone. You'll be saving $15 per month. For a two year contract that's $360+tax.

I think I'd like to head out west after residency.. maybe Washington or Oregon. I feel like my ideal plan would be to do my residency in Chicago, and then head west after that.

I want to do residency and practice at mayo rochester

dang you guys are all about the cold environments =S

I can see myself living and working in the following places:
-Guam, Hawaii, or any pacific island really
-southeast Florida (read: miami)
-maaaybe socal...but not likely.

i like the cold and small cities

It really turns her on... as she's looking at me while I'm chugging along... if it runs like a deer man her eyes light up.

Yes that one.

What's not to love about that song?

Cold is a plus in my book... small cities, depends. I don't really have a preference as far as city size goes, but long run I'll probably want to go to a city that's livable. That usually means smaller-ish cities, not of the NYC, LA, Chicago varieties.

Matt, you're really into the pacific islands aren't you? Is there a particular reason?

Somewhere cold for me.

Potential places would include (in no particular order): Washington state, Minn, WI, Chicago area, NYC area but not in the city itself, and maybe New England (although the accents there kind of annoy me). I guess I'm picky, my home-state is completely off my list.

Edit: Top

Residency in MI is a possibility, maybe. I would consider going back if it was UM-Ann Arbor or Beaumont or something like that, depending on what field I specialize in. But I would probably want to still take off in the long run

I'm bored and trying to avoid studying so I'll be more specific.

Minn, WI= family
Chicago, NYC=family and friends
New England= a few distant family members, but mostly just fits my weather requirements and is scenic.
Washington=Seattle is cool and the weather is nice.

Plus most of them are by large bodies of water🙂.

My issues is with where I see the state going (lack of support for higher-ed being a big one) where I don't think it'd be the best place to raise kids.

It's a shame because I do like it here, but if I had kids I would leave.

Beaumont and UM-Ann Arbor are cool places though.

break in convo, sorry: but did anyone watch the simpsons tonight and then see this a capella at the end???? I am thoroughly impressed!

I wish I could sing that well...

Since we're talking about practice location... I'm hoping to do residency in the Lehigh Valley. Its about 30 minutes from all of my relatives. After living in Philadelphia for the past four years and committing to the next four in the city, I've realized that I really enjoy urban life but this place is not conducive to my plans. I want a good education system for my children, a safe place to raise a family... and a BIG yard.

wow...so NO ONE wants to live in the tropics???
What's wrong with (me) / (you guys) ?

You're gonna leave all your family? I'm going to practice in central Ohio (weather is not TOO bad, at least there are seasons) b/c my whole family is here.

Oh I want to live in the tropics....but my whole family is in Chicago, so I am hoping I can scrounge a residency there, and then cry every time it goes below 40 degrees🙁

I wanna do residency/ fellowship either in Brown, Dartmouth, or Mayo...

I wanna practice in suburbia however... Either Chicago, Orange County, but I would not mind going to NW Pacific Coast...

Oh and I caved in today and got cookies... Mmm... cookies...*drool*

Yeah, I grew up in hot and dry west TX, then settled in Austin with the humidity, but still fairly warm during the "winter" . Then my parents moved to Phoenix, and well, you can't get hotter than here. I have seen snow maybe a TOTAL number of 6 times in my life? But family is family ..... they will just have to teach me the ropes on how to deal with it all.

I have seen snow when I used to live in Chicago, and twice when I lived in El Paso... What part of west Texas did you live in?

I definitely see where you're coming from, that's partly why I'd have no problem doing residency in Michigan where my parents live. Interestingly, my parents are the odd one out in that almost all of my relatives (aunts and uncles, grandparents) live in LA. I don't know if I really want to live in LA though.. I've always preferred SF.

Tropical weather is gross. I don't mind warm/hot weather, but I definitely mind it when it's humid. Arrrrrrgh.

Oh yeah, I went to high school with one of your cousins... small world isn't it...

I know what you mean, I used to feel like I was suffocating when it was humid, but living in Austin, I had to get over it.....

I cry every time it goes below 50 degrees...

I don't like to admit this (being that I'm headed to Penn State)...but I cry every time it goes below 70 :help:

I left my family to go to school out in Miami. Rough at first, but then I got comfy and LOVED the place! Now I have friends down there that I can look forward to visiting again.
I also have family out in Guam and Hawaii...and I'm long overdue on visiting them =/
In truth, I really can't see myself staying in NorCal that much longer...this place is drivin' me nutty! But part of that could be that I'm currently living with my mom, step dad, older brother, older brother's girlfriend, little brother, and endless random guests...

That's the positive of having family and friends really spread out. Leaves lots of options open.

👍

Midland....born and raised.

Cool. When I think of West Texas, I only think of El Paso and the part in the Mountain Time Zone... I keep forgetting that the Panhandle vicinity region is also considered West Texas...

I probably will live somewhere down here. We'll see though. My mom has this dream that I will live somewhere up north. But I don't like it up north and neither does Mr. Nola.

I do <3 NorCal but yeah, I'm having enough trouble as it is living with my mom and dad! I can't imagine living with ALL of those people 😱😱.

I am ALWAYS hungry.

This is SO annoying.

I think maybe it means I should get some sleep soon.

That happens to me. If I stay up too late, then I get hungry again.

With that said, good night everyone. I am tired.
