I think people are also overly optimistic about Florida 🙁. There are a lot of racist jerks in this state. Not everyone, but enough...

We'll see if the rest of us can compensate for the # of racist jerks. We'll see.

I just don't like people yelling at me for not voting. Then I ask who they are voting for and why they chose that person. Most of who I talk to can't answer my question for more than 10 seconds before they realize they really have no idea. On both sides, too.

My night's ok. Just survived a stats test earlier today.

Oooh. So funny story actually: you know how sometimes teachers will 'threaten' to leave the classroom without all of the exams when students are late turning in their work? Have you ever seen teachers do that where they will say "I'm leaving in 5 minutes with or without your exams. Please turn in all of your papers."? Well today the teacher actually DID leave without maybe 10 peoples' exams. (I think he's irritated at the class because at least one person threatened to report him to his supervisor -- yeah, he's not the best teacher in the world). Personally, I don't think the teacher gave fair warning. He didn't give a 5 minute warning or anything.

And there were some BIG guys among the group of exams he didn't pick up. It was incredible. There were probably 10 people running around trying to figure out where the heck the teacher had gone after the exam was over. I mean, an angry mob of people who had just pored over this really difficult exam and never got to turn it in!

I never found out what happened but that was pretty incredible. Fortunately, I got mine in on time.

Been pretty busy. I'm also between desks in my lab, so I don't have a spot to set up my laptop at the moment. Should change within a few days.

Yeah, this teacher is wildly unpopular.

He initially wanted to schedule the exam for two hours on Halloween night (Friday) from 5-7. It was pretty crazy. He got in a lot of trouble for that (partially because he gave almost 0 notice).

I woke up at 5:30 this morning to vote, and the drowsiness is setting in. 😴

Anthropology is going to be a pain. Same with Math 🙁

i think that you have to take the little sticker you get when you vote and take that to the store and show them. starbucks and ben and jerry will both give you something free.

that's really bad! i've never had that happen to me, but some of our profs start taking away points when you hand it in late ... like 1 minute late = 5 points, 3 minutes = 10 points

He's a little screwy to be honest. When the semester started, he added a fourth class hour on Thursday mornings (we don't get any class hours/credit for going and it's absolutely mandatory). If you had a class scheduled for Thursday mornings, well, too bad you're out of luck. He doesn't wear a mic in class and I'm straining my ears to hear him in the second row because he talks like this (think: big lecture hallway = 50 rows?). At the very last minute, this guy tried to schedule our previous test for Halloween night (Friday) from 5-7 (not during normal class hours + an extra hour). Of course, people complained, and this was the point at which someone threatened to report him to his supervisor. This guy assigns "suggested homework problems" but he will neither grade them nor provide US with solutions so that we can assess our own knowledge. The book has no solutions either.

To be honest, any single ONE of those things by itself isn't SO bad. But when you compound all of the issues that the class has, it just ends up being a royal disaster. The class average is a C, I think. Which is no surprise; no one can hear what he's saying.

Heh, the only reason I'm sitting here so calm is because I'm very comfortably A-range 😛. (Hint: take advantage of the free tutoring services on campus -- they really do work).
 
Morning folks. This is a historic day for our country and I am blessed to be able to see it and experience it. It is good to see our country moving in a forward direction. I never thought in my life that I would see the day that a black man would be running for president, let alone possibly win the election. This is an awesome time!

Sorta, but I'm not sure how late I"ll make it. Haha. I was at the polls at 6:50, waiting in line, then drove to work. I'll probably crash by 11 or 12. And I doubt we'll have an answer by then... But maybe.

Well, by 11pm EST the polls will have closed at all contiguous US states. East coast states will have been closed for 3 or 4 hours and midwest states will have been closed for 2 hours. I'm hoping by then we'll have a pretty good picture of what's going to happen.

Of course, if it's a really close one, it could go late....
