Lemme get some rest so i can handle my SDN visitor tomorrow 😉 must... resist... temptation

Chubbs-me and you are going to defer a year, get morbidly obese, audition for the Biggest Loser Couples (we'll be the pre-med BFFs), make it to the end, and then we'll split the $250k. Med schools-paid.

What do ya think?

(I haven't finished watching it....I've cried at every f-ing weigh in. I needed a break).

Hahaha.a.if i gain 150 lbs in a year....I might die, but otherwise sounds like a plan

you know all those fat loss pill ads where a guy goes from a fat blob into a brad pitt?

usually, they hire a body builder, who already looks like brad pitt. Take a "after" picture of him. He then proceeds to put on lots of fat, for the "before" picture. Then after the photoshoots are over he can proceed to lose the weight over a few months or w/e

That's what Jon Marshall did. Over in the osteopathic forum or it may have been pre-osteo a poster wrote a little something about an acquaintance he knew that went to school with Marshall. She said that's what he did. I believe it too, because he's too "toned" in his before picture.

:boom:
So someone posed a question about going to Howard Med or VCOM. I said that the atmosphere of Howard Med may discourage some people from going. I got called a racist because I said the university, not knowing the med school makeup, was largely African-American (read as black, because there are white African Americans, thanks Pre-allo!) and this might deter people because of lack of diversity in the school's atmosphere. WTF. Gah SDN.

Shake it off, its no biggie. No one actually used the word 'racist', even though it may have been implied by one comment. Being a professional you have to be careful how you phrase things. You don't see minority applicants withdrawing applications from universities because there are too many 'white' students there. Being an African American male, no matter where I go professionally I will be a minority. I don't complain, to be honest getting out of my comfort zone has allowed me to grow as a person. As a moderator I think that your comments have been on point and you offer great advice.

The fact that the majority of the faces surrounding you at a particular institution are one color or another says very little about the culture. It is the diversity of the individuals; where they were raised, their values, socioeconomic status.

I'm sorry I missed it, but this picture is TOO CUTE!

I slept for nearly 10 hours last night. 😱 I must have just caught up on the extra sleep I've been missing for a few weeks now.

I reiterate that this is the best thread on SDN. I don't even know why I leave it. 😡

Sweet dreams/good morning all...

Yup, which is crazy cuz I graduate on Saturday and start school again on Monday.
Congrats Beerog! I'm sure you are going to have a great time getting to know everyone in PARP... when you're not locked up somewhere studying 😀

I heard about your new place next year too! It sounds so nice! Too bad your roommate is... well... he's a loser  It's okay just don't let him be seen with you in public 😀
