Page.. 5?! 😱😱😱😱

Finally friday! 🙂

Oh wow. How did we let that happen?

Happy Friday everyone! Any big weekend plans? I'm just headed to my girlfriend's city to hang out and help a friend move. Fun times, huh?

Well, I have 3 more secondaries I'm currently sitting on, 6 more that don't screen, and then I have to hear the judgment of 6 screeners...

all in all not to shabby for mid-July 🙂

Where are you guys in the process so far?

I've submitted 13 secondaries, I'm sitting on 6 (I know, I know, but two are going out today or tomorrow...and the weekend is here, so i won't be getting any more) And that leaves 8 secondaries that I haven't received yet

Hah well the only reason why I only am sitting on 3 is cause I just gave up on 2 (U Chicago and USC) cause I dont feel that strongly about them anyway and I'm po'.

Since having submitted 15, I've been taking a bit of a secondary break the end of this week. But I'll be on vacation this weekend and plan on doing a lot of essay writing as I sit in my hotel room with little to do (my big plans are on Monday). I'm currently sitting on 6 secondaries, leaving 8 that I haven't gotten (of those, I believe 4 screen).

You guys are flying right along!! 👍

I've submitted 7/18, have 3 to do over the weekend, and 4 of the remaining that I haven't gotten yet are screeners. I have a really busy August, travel-wise, so I'm hoping that isn't too much of a problem with the rest.

Submitted 14/15 I've received. Still waiting on eight more.

Albany
Case Western
Drexel
Loyola
Penn State
Rosalind Franklin
Rush
Tulane (should come next week)

I was hoping I'd be done with all by now, but oh well. At least I'm complete at 10 schools 👍

I was really surprised that my LORs were already received at AMCAS - it looks like they got the kinks worked out of the system with VirtualEvals. My advisor uploaded my LORs to VE yesterday at about 1:00 pm, and I was notified this morning at 8:30 am that my LORs were received into AMCAS. 😱

Yay! We're all recieved and happy! hahah. This was a great weekend present for me. My school hasn't recieved them yet, but they DID get the other transcript they were waiting on, so my file could be complete any time now! :scared:🙂🙂🙂

Are you supposed to be notified by the schools about completing secondaries? No idea how this part works! Thanks!!

Yes. Most schools (so far all 21 of mine so far) will send you an email with a link to their secondary. Some schools have online application systems, and other schools require that you print out the application, fill it in, and physically mail it to them. What questions do you have about this part of the process?

I slept til TWELVE. good lord, I was probably in high school the last time I did that. Must've needed the rest.

Happy Saturday afternoon to you all! Batman was amazing.... go see it!!!

Only have 4 more secondaries left. I've done 13/17. Come on Drexel, Albany, EVMS, and PSU! Hopefully they will all come soon because I'm leaving for Italy on the 29th. Does anyone else think this process is not nearly as hard as it is built up to be?

Sigh, I've reached a total impasse and don't feel like writing essays anymore. I'm hoping that taking a couple of days off will lead to renewed inspiration.

And where in Italy are you going to, and for what?!

Its not hard, but it time-consuming and wears on my patience. It was "harder" last year when I did everything later...

It's not hard if you have nothing else going on in your life...i.e. slacker...not suggesting you are or anything....I am just saying

Rome, Florence, and Venice over 10 days. It's just for fun. I've never been out of the country and I've been saving up for it for awhile, so I'm veryy excited.

If you write 10 essays...you can pretty much reuse all of them for the rest of the schools with minor tweaking. Its not too terrible, ive filled out more than 20 and I have a full time job this summer.

I agree with this. I have been doing research all summer and have been pretty successful writing essays during incubation periods.

Ooh that's nice! I'm from Rome (grew up there and all that) and you'll love it! Let me know if you have any questions 😀

I got tulanes sec at 842 this morning...Since when do they start sending them out on sundays?

ahhhhh...there's no "safe" day of the week anymore. compulsive email checking must ensue each and every day.

I'm going to try to get Tulane finished this afternoon and send it off.
I know right!!! I use the weekends to catch up on things, both sleep and secondaries. I cant have schools sending me stuff on the weekends!!

Ahhh Tulane's secondary is a breeze - really no essays, just like two short answer questions. Piece of cake.

anyone heard from Rush yet?

I wish. I spent the weekend watching the first season of ER and eating pizza.

I hope you were all more productive than I was....

I wasn't really. I did get a nice sunburn which will hopefully translate into a little bit of color on my pasty white self.

Alright, guys. Finish this sentence.

I hate/am sitting on/ need to fill out the __________ secondary.

Me: Tulane, NYU, and Temple. I really really hate the Tulane one.

S-E-V-E-N. Seven. That is the number of secondaries I have written since 7am, including Kentucky and Tulane (which I finally just surrendered). Still sitting on UVa, Georgetown and Boston, although I am thinking of not doing Georgetown and Boston because the odds are slim and I'm not sure I'm feeling them.
Maybe I'll see how I feel about them in the morning :scared:

I finished 7 too!!! but yesterday. Well, 6 not including mayo. But I still have 15 to go :scared:

Great day in the NICU! I love the docs I'm shadowing... they are just fantastic. Going to Olive Garden tonight to eat with one of my college friends... she's about to leave to do 3 years of mission work in Southeast Asia :scared::scared:.
She's a lot more brave than I am!

Ditto on the :scared: for doing 3 years in SE Asia. Takes some cajones I guess I just don't have...

She's brave, that's for sure. Yawn. Seven more days at my nonfun job (including today).

No, no, no. Everyone knows that when you're counting down you don't count the day you're already in.. that means six more days!

Good morning everybody. How is everybody doing?

No, no, no. Everyone knows that when you're counting down you don't count the day you're already in.. that means six more days!

Haha... Given. I just hope & pray I really get to go back on the 1st. It COULD still be 7, but they need me at my other job next friday so I'm thinking it'll be then.
