I need to start doing some interview prep of my own. For the moment, Ike looks like he might leave us alone. *crosses fingers*
 
So another week begins.

The suit is pressed, the bags are almost packed. It's the last couple of days before that seem to last the longest. Although the wait from 9/11 to 10/16 is going to be agonizing... last time, I had an answer within a week from this school. They turn around decisions once a week, but being RDP I won't find out until 10/16. Ahhh!

Football tonight is decent. I'm (somewhat) impressed with Green Bay's new QB - he hasn't gotten a lot of help up front and I'm sure that has held him back a bit.

Anywho, it's off to finish 4Q and dose a bit during the next game!

Ohhh wait...you have an interview tomorrow morning!!! I thought you said you got an interview invite this morning. OMG, good luck! I have one tomorrow morning too. We should get some sleep so we can be ready :scared:

Ugh, I am still exhausted from rehearsal... I think I have strained both of my rotator cuffs and it is not fun. Fortunately we have vocal rehearsal until Thursday so I should be able to rest and ice my shoulders when I have free time.
 
Good luck and God bless everybody interviewing today!!! Do yo thang and have a good time. Make them want to give you your acceptance envelope right there on the spot! Wouldn't that be sweet. 😀

Man, I just want one interviewer, when the interview finishes, to wink at me and say "I don't think you have anything to worry about."

That would go a long way to make me feel better!

:laugh: When you say this I sort of picture something along the lines of on "So You Think You Can Dance" where, after your audition, they decide to cut you, put you in the choreography group, or yell that you're going straight to Vegas.

I wanna go to VEGAS!!
 
Officially nervousexcited. This is my top choice as of now - and I really want to wow em! I have completed the last minute have-to-do errands (pay some bills, finish my schoolwork for tomorrow night, get it all sent to the professor in case there's a disaster and I don't get back in time) and will go home from work at 12 to finish packing. In the meantime, I'm reading the mission statement of the school, my AMCAS, and the top 60 questions asked by interviews at the school.

I'm not ready yet, but I will be. 👍

A very sweet current student at the school has a blog... the questions are there. But you can make your own list, based off the questions in "interview feedback" for the school you are going to. Each person who has interviewed and put in feedback normally puts in 3 questions or so, you can get a good idea of their basic questions by this 🙂

Hey! The interview was crazy. I don't think my experience is at all typical of Vandy interviews, but it's a good story so I'll tell it anyways.

I shake hands with my interviewer. He invites me to take off my jacket and have a seat. I think, "Oh good, a casual guy." We sit down and he stares at me and says nothing. It's awkward for a second. I figure he wants me to start, so I open my mouth to say something. Right as I do, he jumps in and says, "Do you have any questions for me?" I of course come up with some bullcrap question, to which he replies, "Is this your first interview? Let me give you some pointers for your other interviews...." and then proceeded to tell how I had asked the wrong question entirely. He told me what questions to ask, and then asked me to ask them. I did. He answered them. I asked more questions. He criticized every one, and then answered them. He then asked me "Who was O.T. Avery?" I had no idea. So I told him that. He starts to explain who Avery was, and of course, I remember the name as soon as he describes his work, so I halfway redeemed myself. We chatted about that for a while.
There was an awkward pause after that topic ended. My interviewer looked straight into my eyes and said, "I'm certain you will be invited to join this class, so let's just talk about your future now." So we did. The tone completely changed and we talked medicine like old buddies for 45 min. Weird. So the take home lesson is: you have no idea how the interview is acutally going.

Like I said, mine was weird. Everyone else in the group said their interviews were completely conversational and laid back.

Congrats serikk - although it was an odd experience it appears he was just testing you... and you passed! Hopefully you'll have an acceptance letter in the mail on October 15th. 👍

I got my fifth invite today! EVMS - more in-state love! Now I just need UVA for a statewide sweep. :laugh:
 
Got another hold today...albany
..that makes 3 holds and 2 rejections.

So excited! I mean, it's no guarantee. The interviewers are not on the committee. But he's been interviewing applicants since Vanderbilt was founded, I imagine, so he knows how things go. It's a pretty good sign. Me + Vandy = <3
 
Man, sounds like some 2013ers are already having some good fortune. Good job everyone! I can't wait until October 15th!

Hey!!!!!!! Thanks LET!!!!! That really means a lot to me. Actually, it meant so much that I told my mama and my wife! :laugh: Really thank you again and thank you for your help and comments in there. The process is going. I am complete at Howard, Meharry, Morehouse, UCLA/Drew, USC and Pitt. So we shall see what happens. I am just praying and leaving it all in the Lord's hands. He will take care of me!

How was Vandy? I saw your pics and it looks awesome out there.
